They milk the ever-loving crap outta this thing. The sked is released but they then spend the remaining 2:59 dissecting it ad nauseum. tRULY the masters of the art of making something out of nothing How dare you question the network that brings us 17 hours of continuous, live coverage of the rookie combine?!?!?!

If I recall correctly, they don't show the whole schedule right away but instead, they drag it out week by week. Then again, I think the ESPN special last year was only an hour. Nah man, it goes up immediately on the intergooglez and then those dumbasses drill it into the ground...it was definitely a 3-hour ordeal.

I want to make the Dallas trip this year. Similarly, it will depend on the schedule. Only other game out West I might get to would be Oakland....but not really a fan of doing that again. I'd need to bring @westcoastoffensive to shield me from beer bottles again! Those morons throw half full bottles of beer! or is it piss??? Oy Oy Oy

Let's see if I follow this.
WHO we play was released without fanfare. WHEN we play them gets a 3 hour special,
Is this because who we play follows an exact formula? I' m aware of the split:
6 against division 4 against another AFC division 4 against an NFC division 2 based upon last years's record.
Isn't the division pairing and last two games the more important aspect? Why not a 3 hour special on that? Or is there some exact formula applied to decide who, leaving when as the only marketable news?

Anyone can figure out the who for next year after the last game of the season. The when is the only thing no one knows until the league figures it out.

Anyone can figure out the who for next year after the last game of the season. The when is the only thing no one knows until the league figures it out. Actually, you know the who for 14 of the 16 games before the prior season even starts. The Divisions are on a rotational basis -- it is only the last two teams based upon record that are a wildcard. For 2016, I am pretty sure we will play the NFC West and AFC North, plus our 6 Division games. Only wildcard are the two teams based on record. Only reason that I look forward to schedule release is because I try to make it travel to 1 or 2 games every year. Indy is an easy drive from Chicago, so that is likely to be 1 (As long as its night a Monday night) and I should have a pretty good idea what the other game will be tonight. Hoping I can do a Mets/Jets weekend in September.

I think the Jets even had it on their site right away. But I thought the ESPN show posted the weeks slowly. A well done half hour show could be interesting. Anything more than that is unwatchable.

Yeah...it comes out right away and ESPN does their ESPN thing and over analyzes it for 3 hours. In the past there have also been multiple leaks about some of the games....Sunday/Monday night....Thanksgiving etc. etc. There's a chance we'll know some information well before 8:00 p.m.

I'm calling PIT @ NE in the opener, NYJ @ DAL, GB @ DEN and ARZ @ DET on Thanksgiving.
