well, maybe they pick oline. the thing i see is that there are quite a few players in the 5-15 range who should be pretty darn good. imo the jets will try to trade down if mariota or cooper or white aren't there. the problem is with whom? with so many good players who's going to trade up for a guy they can get without trading.

If we trade down with Cooper or White on the board I would be pissed. I know we would get more picks but we need a young legitimate threat at WR which we haven't had in a long time. Marshal is getting up there in age and is coming off an ankle injury. If Marshal gets hurt we are right back where we were last year.

A solid strategy if the top targets are gone, IMO. Guys like Scherff and Peat would be very good options, after a trade down to add picks.
I think the Jets should pick Mariota, Cooper or Fowler if they are on the board at 6 but, if they are gone, definitely explore trade down options.

It's just WoWomanish throwing shit against the wall. Totally hypothetical Not just hypothetically stating what he "hears" they might do, but he has the brass to be dispensing advice on what they 'should' do! As if he is any kind of a football expert to be telling Macagnan what his opinion of what he should do is! He's forgotten what a reporter is supposed to do, he's gone from reporting, to speculating, to advising. What an ass. And how does he know Macagnan won't "jolt the fanbase"? He has no idea!

Would love that if they do trade down. Too much value at other positions at the 6 spot though.

While offensive linemen are not glamorous picks, we need to start grooming some starters. Someone like Peat can start right away. If the Jets went that way, I'd be fine with it, as long as we get a good player.

The Rams or the Browns, both of which are looking for WRs and possibly QBs and have to leap frog the Bears. Saints are a possibility too since they need an edge rusher or RB. But the Giants might take Schreff so there's some risk there.

Not sure how we don't take one of the WR's if they're sitting there.....It's not like Marshall and Decker are spring chickens

So tough with no QB, but we need OL too.

If I'm going OL
Scherff > Peat
Yeah, I know that a tackle is more valuable than a guard, but Scherff is a potential all-pro from Day 1 and right there with Cooper as the safest pick in the draft.
You saw the impact Zack Martin made in Dallas last year. Don't try and tell me that he doesn't go Top 10 in a redo.

Scherff is a top 10 talent in this draft. Peat looks more like a teens to twenties guy with upside. Both guys would be nice fits, if a trade down is the way the Jets go.
