I just started thinking of this scenario. Say the Jets trade back to the teens somewhere and pick up an additional second in the teens(plus whatever else). They take one of the RBs with their first pick, and then Ray and Collins are staring them in the face with their 2nd rounders...,can you pull the trigger? I think I would. And I'd think we crushed the draft.

And I'd think we crushed the draft. I think you have to. Taking 1st round talent in the 2nd is a lot less risky than taking a chance with your 1st round pick. Gay for Gurley/Ray! |

I'm not the biggest Ray fan, but I'd snatch his ass up in a heartbeat if he fell to #37.
Same goes for Collins

I am fairly confident that the Jets will not have a pick at 6. Whether up or down.

The only risk I would take if 1 of the 2 qbs fell to us at 6 - otherwise get the BPA

If we can't get Mariota I'm all for trading back and accumulating picks, only cooper, fowler and Williams are worth the 6th pick in my opinion.

That is talent you just can't pass up in the 2nd round no matter how big the rap sheet is. Ray would also be motivated to play with his "big brother" Sheldon again which might help him stop making dumbass mistakes. |
