Justin Hardy is unquestionably the best WR left on the board. Despite the presence of Smith or Lockett. Not only that, but he'll play week 1 in the slot and immediately become a target hog. He could catch 80 balls in his rookie year depending on QB play.
Think Antonio Brown. That's Justin Hardy.
It should be noted, that we haven't worked out or visited almost anyone in this bracket. OLBs Eli Harold and Nate Orchard are about it...
Rnd 2 talent: DGB Strong Harold
Rnd 3: Hardy (if we're lucky) Orchard
I just hope they don't outsmart themselves by taking a guy like Hunt or Petty with the 37th pick. FWIW; Walter has us taking Strong as of this morning.
Thoughts?
PS. We should all hate the fact that MIA landed Parker.

I think today is where you see Mac really start to manipulate the draft.
Wouldn't be surprised at all to see us move down a few spots in the 2nd/3rd to pick up an extra 4th and maybe a 5th/6th.
In fact, I fully expect it.

Agreed. If we don't take DGB or Strong I really want Hardy. He would be a great pick up. You can play him all over the field, and he has a knack at making some spectacular catches. I want nothing to do with any of the remaining QBs until the 3rd round.

I don't buy that the Jets are just going to stand pat with no picks in the 5th or 6th round.

SD slipping up 2 spots and Denver 3 or 4, is what i call a QUIET draft, to say the least... To me, that's a result of two factors; 1- teams feel like there's lots of value and it's all relative. In other words, they can get who they want when they want them... 2 - there's a lot of different opinions on players. Theres' little to no conensus on player' stock. Which in turn makes teams uneasy about moving around for people when they have no gauge on their relative value.

Would prefer someone with a little more speed and explosiveness if we're going WR.

So I don't "expect" one today

Their skill sets are similar, but I'd say Hardy is better at everything. He's able to go up and attack the ball better than Kerley, and is more of a threat while playing outside the numbers. He may not have the speed that Smith has, but Hardy is explosive in short bursts and changes direction very well. He had the fastest 3 cone time at the combine I believe. He's also a tough S.O.B. Personally, I don't see Smith developing into anything more than a deep threat. I wouldn't be opposed to taking him, but I don't think he's better.

But there's still some pretty damn good players available. Wouldn't surprise me if some team wants to move up for a guy like Landon/Jalen Collins, Randy Gregory or even a RB like Tevin Coleman/Duke Johnson if a team has him as their 3rd rated back and really wants him (Dallas, Arizona, etc). But if a kid like DGB or Strong is there, I could see the Jets just staying pat and taking him. I've been critical of DGB off the field, but coming to the Jets would really be a solid situation. He wouldn't be counted on as anything more than the 4th receiver for his first year or two and I think the Jets have really assembled a strong locker room.

I wasn't really thinking about Smith, but more like McBride or Lockett in Round 3. How do you think hardy compares to them?

Ok, that description paints a good picture. Still not sure that's what we need at WR right now given the makeup of our roster (WRs), but I wouldn't complain if we went with him.

I think DGB is worth the risk due to his potential.
