I like the pick, just not sure he was BPA above DGB, Strong and Gregory.
Think we forced the need for a deep threat. Having said that, who knows where he was on our board.

Absolutely. Maybe the best deep threat in the draft, with the desire and ability to become much more. Good guy, hard worker, explosive athlete. Very happy with the pick.
We needed speed and field-stretching ability at WR. Now we have it.

I think there are asterisks next to Gregory and DGB. Not sure we'd even take them in the 3rd but who knows. Between Devin Smith and Strong it may have simply come down to desiring speed over size. They are different types of WRs but both in that 2nd Tier in my opinion.

It always feels disappointing when you can get a 1st round talent in the second and for some reason you pass. Think you're right on DGB and Gregory, obviously we are scared of them.

Strong has yet to get picked. These NFL teams knows something that others don't.
I think Devin comes off as a cool, smart kid willing to learn from Vets like Decker, BMarsh and even Kerley.
I think we might have put him through some drills with more of a route tree and he showed good potential.

I think I'd have preferred Strong but since he blew off the combine medical recheck maybe that scared us off....whats he got to hide? In any event, I guess that's the end for Evans and Enunwa.....
That being said I LOVE his attitude and work ethic. I think he is gonna be a great pro and a good prospect to develop while the current guy are aging out.

not my favorite pick (by a mile) but i won't argue that Smith adds an authentic downfield dimension we needed...
This was a fairly positive assessment:

FWIW, Bucky sees a future #1 WR. Everybody has their own opinion and comparison but all saw him as a borderline 1st/early 2nd rd pick.

I like it. Basically our 4th/5th receiver and a special teams gunner and the field stretching deep threat we needed.
