He really seems to be on point. He knows exactly what he's goin for anyways. At least he knows players.

I agree. We're 100x better than what we were 5 months ago. It's really incredible how, on paper at least, we've improved to a point of being highly competitive against any team.

This new tandem is off to a great start. My only concern is the Wilkerson situation. I'd love to sign him long term, but the Williams drafting is a nice insurance policy. Hopefully, this kid comes in and dominates from the onset. That being said, Mac has to get us a QB. I know it's easier said than done (and luck is involved too) but if he can get us a good/great signal caller in the next two years he will be my personal hero.

So far, so good with Mccagnan. He has made sound moves which improve the team, quietly making headlines, as opposed to the ultra-flashy style of Tanny. The move down twelve slots in Round 3 is a good example of how you build a team through draft picks w/o giving up value. The new management, and coaching staff is doing everything right. I fully expect it to translate into making the team a serious contender sooner rather than later. Yes, there are still questions on offense, both at QB, and an aging offensive line. However, do not discount the offensive line being upgraded quickly. The QB position is the most concerning as it is the pivotal position for any team. It's on Geno to pick it up, Fitz to step up, or someone not currently on the roster to come in, guide the team, and reap the benefits of management's successes.

We can debate on who we wanted with each of the picks. But I don't think you can argue that, so far, we've gotten 3 solid players who IMO can be productive and contribute starting Day 1. It's kind of a miracle to finally look at our picks so far and not say WTF?? I really think the only spot we need to strengthen is the OL. The more time Geno has back there, the better. But I love how Mac has built up the team in just one off-season.

He's really done a nice job this far. Smith was a sneaky good selection and the kids from Louisville is a great story but he's also a tremendous football player in a position of need. Great part about it is that there are still value OL available. Hundley and Petty are sitting there too, 4 picks away.

QB is obviously the weak point but I don't think it'll be as bad as some people are making out - we've loaded up nearly every position for whoever does start at QB to lean back on. They may not be successful upfront but they have all the tools to be successful around them. Even bringing in Gailey is a huge step forward. Every time we've signed or picked someone big on either side of the ball this off season all I see from other fans is "doesn't matter hurrdurr Geno who gonna throw"...frustrating. Liking everything Mac has done so far.

Imagine what he could have done with our 12 draft picks last year The way I look at it, the only reason Mac is here is that Idzik whiffed so badly with those picks.

Yea I gotta admit I like what he's doing so far draft wise. Got good value in round 1 with a beast DL who you could argue was the best player in the draft. he was def BPA at our pick. I wanted offense badly and would have did a backflip if we got Kevin White but I get it. Stay safe and take the monster because he's BPA.
In round 2 he added a true burner at WR a dimension we've been lacking. You could argue that he could have gotten better value but if you're going WR there, the only other WR you can think about taking there is DGB and I can understand why a first year GM would want to stay away from him. Those of you with a hard on for Strong, there was no way we were gonna take him with BMarsh and Decker here. Devin Smith complements our WR core better.
I felt he could have gotten more out of the trade down(Who the hell is Devier Posey?) and I felt he dropped down too many spots and we missed out on some good players, but he made up for it by selecting Mauldin. Needed another young OLB, and this kid has a good motor.
Any RBs worth taking in the 4-5th round?

I watched a presser that I guess was held after yesterday's picks, in which Mac said that when the time came for their first pick, it wasn't just that Williams was the best player available, but that he was so much better than the rest of the players they had on their board. That's impressive.
