Has that ever happened before? I'm pretty certain it's never happened with the Jets, but landing both the top Free Agent in Darrelle Revis and the consensus top Draft Prospect in Leondard Williams is quite a fricken accomplishment in my book! Sure, the naysayers will point to the fact that neither of those guys play offense, that we've hired yet another defensive-minded Head Coach and that we used 2 of our Top 3 picks on defense, but this has been, by most accounts, the single best offseason the Jets have ever had.
Of course, we don't truly know how well this will work until we see the product on the field in September, but I can't recall a bigger talent infusion by this team in my life.
Just from the standpoint of starters or guys who will be very significant role players / rotational guys, the Jets have added....
Darrelle Revis - Starting CB Antonio Cromartie - Starting CB Marcus Gilchrist - Starting S Buster Skrine - Starting Nickel/Slot CB Brandon Marshall - Starting WR James Carpenter - Starting OG Leonard Williams - DLine Devin Smith - WR Lorenzo Mauldin - OLB
Nevermind the re-signings of David Harris, Bilal Powell, and depth additions of Fitzpatrick, Zac Stacy, Damon Harrison, Willie Colon, etc.
This has been a pretty sick offseason.

Bowles and Macagnan looked pretty damned pleased with themselves in that clip of Devin Smith getting picked. BTW Smith either is very reserved with his emotions (a good quality on the field IMO) or wasn't too thrilled with being picked by the Jets, or was shocked that he went as high as he did and didn't know how to react

Think he thought he was going to continue his career in Ohio.

Honestly, in order for this to be a legit 100% success, i have to see what Bowles does this fall with formations. I'm pretty confident he'll know what to do, but i'm going to hold out till then. We've got 4 EXCEPTIONALLY talented dlineman when you include Coples - so i want to see him adapt to the roster. i want lots of 4 man fronts.

It will be interesting to see how teams protect against us. You can only double-team so many guys at the LOS. Getting Wilkerson, Richardson and L. Williams into 1 on 1 match ups seems like almost unfair. And if you double a couple of those guys then someone like Coples, Pace, Mauldin, etc is coming in unblocked to the QB. It will be fun watching QBs try to get the ball off quickly with Revis locking down the #1 WR and a guy like Pryor head-hunting back there.

Not to sound like an obvious Jets homer, but if i'm NE, you've got to be dreading the 2015 season. We're obviously gonna be a nightmare for their offense, Rex up in Buffalo is working with allstar unit himself, so that's gonna be a shit show for them too. Dolphins seemed to piecing together a strong unit led by Suh also... So, if you're NE - you've got 6 games in your division this year with Defensive juggernauts that are aiming to murder your QB and KO the SB championship team... Not looking good for them.

Did they go OL at all in the draft? I know their first few picks were defense and rightfully so but you'd have to think they'd be looking into OL help.

I won't go that far quite yet as NE is still the top dog until someone knocks them out....but it is very interesting that they seemed to emphasize interior OLine with two picks in Round 4.

I feel like Jets fan say that every year (okay maybe not last year). Yet the Patriots continue to dominate the AFCE. For me, against NE, it's more about what our offense can do and if we can finally put up points and not continue to hand the ball over to the other team.

I'm not making any prognostications about records and division seeding, I'm just saying that looking at the schedule this year has got to suck if you're playing on offense for NE... cause those 6 games are gonna be a slugfest. They're gonna get punched in the dick, hard.
