Not to sound like an obvious Jets homer, but if i'm NE, you've got to be dreading the 2015 season. We're obviously gonna be a nightmare for their offense, Rex up in Buffalo is working with allstar unit himself, so that's gonna be a shit show for them too. Dolphins seemed to piecing together a strong unit led by Suh also... So, if you're NE - you've got 6 games in your division this year with Defensive juggernauts that are aiming to murder your QB and KO the SB championship team... Not looking good for them. I feel like Jets fan say that every year (okay maybe not last year). Yet the Patriots continue to dominate the AFCE. For me, against NE, it's more about what our offense can do and if we can finally put up points and not continue to hand the ball over to the other team. I think as long as they have an effective Brady the chances of our offense winning the matchup with NE is slim. At least until his game slips enough for it to happen. Until then it's on our D, any of the games where we've beaten NE in the Brady era seems to have been on the back of our D.

Always trying to turn every positive thread into a negative is the definition of a troll. And seeing a negative where there isn't any is the definition of what? Here's what you wrote about Devin Smith: "wasn't too thrilled with being picked by the Jets, or was shocked that he went as high as he did and didn't know how to react" That's you taking a jab at the front office and the Jets as an organization. It's not shocking though b/c that's all you've been doing since your bff Rex got fired. Just b/c you're "allegedly" a girl doesn't mean I'm not and others should not call you out on all your bullshit the past 5 months.

Bingo. It will be interesting to see how teams protect against us. You can only double-team so many guys at the LOS. Getting Wilkerson, Richardson and L. Williams into 1 on 1 match ups seems like almost unfair. And if you double a couple of those guys then someone like Coples, Pace, Mauldin, etc is coming in unblocked to the QB. It will be fun watching QBs try to get the ball off quickly with Revis locking down the #1 WR and a guy like Pryor head-hunting back there. Not to sound like an obvious Jets homer, but if i'm NE, you've got to be dreading the 2015 season. They're definitely going to be tough games for them. Honestly, I might be happy with a 3-3 split. Fortunately, the AFC South and NFC East provide a bunch of cupcakes on the rest of the schedule for them to rack up easy W's. It's still going to take at least 11 wins to win this division, IMO.

New England whipped the Lions 34 - 9 last season so I don't think Brady will be losing any sleep over Suh, Rex, or Revis. He's a superbowl champion who was busy sashaying at Kentucky Derby with Gronk during the draft.
Nothing is real until the games are played, until then all this is just talk ...

It is definitely hard to argue there ever being a better off season for the Jets. I look forward to these new offensive weapons helping Geno develop. I don't want to to see Fitzpatrick playing. We have seen flashes in Geno and maybe he puts it all together. If he can't, then hopefully Petty benefits from a season holding the clipboard and he can step in next year.

Honestly, in order for this to be a legit 100% success, i have to see what Bowles does this fall with formations. I'm pretty confident he'll know what to do, but i'm going to hold out till then. We've got 4 EXCEPTIONALLY talented dlineman when you include Coples - so i want to see him adapt to the roster. i want lots of 4 man fronts. I actually think Bowles is perfectly content with this roster and really isn't going to have to change the way he plays defense. Since free agency I have been trying to tell people that the Jets are not a "3-4" defense anymore. They will play far more 4 man fronts than 3 man fronts this year. When you look at all of the DBs that were signed, and look at what Bowles did last year in Arizona, I think it is pretty clear the direction this defense is going. More often than not Bowles will play with 5 or 6 DBs on the field, thus having a 4 man front. IMO he will try to use Pryor in a similar way that he successfully used Deone Buchannon last year. Buchannon served as a hybrid LB/S when in the nickel and dime formations, that is exactly how I see him using Pryor this year. When you have a D line of Coples, Richardson, Wilkerson and Williams you don't have to worry about being vulnerable to the run in nickel and dime situations, those guys are all 3 down players and can get plenty of pass rush with just those 4 guys. I think people will be surprised by how effective Williams will be as a DE in a 4 man front. He is not a fly off the edge defender, but has a really quick first step and and has the ability to beat tackles with his strength and quickness. He has more ability on the edge than Wilkerson has. It will be very interesting watching this defense this year.

Bowles and Macagnan looked pretty damned pleased with themselves in that clip of Devin Smith getting picked. BTW Smith either is very reserved with his emotions (a good quality on the field IMO) or wasn't too thrilled with being picked by the Jets, or was shocked that he went as high as he did and didn't know how to react I agree with you VTN i thought the same thing when I saw D Smiths reaction when the selection was made. He didnt look too pleased, and that is our opinion so F what anybody has to say about our opinions. Thats what this board is for. Its nothing negative it was just our observation.

There's so much a scheme-diverse guy like Bowles can do with our roster... I can't wait to see the hell he unleashes. Pryor and Coples should be the primary beneficiaries versus their roles' last year. It helps that our front line are athletic for the most part too. Throwing the kitchen sink at the opponents will also keep our guys fresh as people like Pace, Babin and Williams rotate in and out all game long. ps, you know who else would have been great in the Buchannon role? Taylor Mays!

Has that ever happened before? I'm pretty certain it's never happened with the Jets, but landing both the top Free Agent in Darrelle Revis and the consensus top Draft Prospect in Leondard Williams is quite a fricken accomplishment in my book! Sure, the naysayers will point to the fact that neither of those guys play offense, that we've hired yet another defensive-minded Head Coach and that we used 2 of our Top 3 picks on defense, but this has been, by most accounts, the single best offseason the Jets have ever had. Of course, we don't truly know how well this will work until we see the product on the field in September, but I can't recall a bigger talent infusion by this team in my life. Just from the standpoint of starters or guys who will be very significant role players / rotational guys, the Jets have added.... Darrelle Revis - Starting CB Antonio Cromartie - Starting CB Marcus Gilchrist - Starting S Buster Skrine - Starting Nickel/Slot CB Brandon Marshall - Starting WR James Carpenter - Starting OG Leonard Williams - DLine Devin Smith - WR Lorenzo Mauldin - OLB Nevermind the re-signings of David Harris, Bilal Powell, and depth additions of Fitzpatrick, Zac Stacy, Damon Harrison, Willie Colon, etc. This has been a pretty sick offseason. Agreed. But the cumulative effect of all of these players on the Jets ability to win games pales in comparison to finding a franchise QB.
