I wonder if they'll ever have him swinging from rooftops with the cable baton. Hope he progresses to see this.

I'm almost finished with it and I have to say I am beyond impressed with it as a Daredevil fan. I was really excited about the direction they were going in with regards to the original Frank Miller storylines of "The Man Without Fear" and "Original Sin" (best thing I ever read outside of "The Dark Knight Returns"). Looks like there is some incorporation of newer stuff I am not familiar with, but I am hopeful for what the future holds. D'Onofrio's interpretation of the Kingpin is excellent and very nuanced. I'm probably one of the biggest Punisher fans on the planet, and I agree that this is the perfect vehicle to re-launch him. Trouble is, they will have to lighten up Daredevil just a tad or make the Punisher beyond dark, because as it is the two really wouldn't co-exist the way they were intended; the vigilante who has a strong moral compass that wishes to see criminals brought to justice vs the vengeful vigilante who just wants to see them dead. Daredevil in the series is certainly true to the former, but his methodology is too Punisher-esque, taking a bit too much enjoyment in brutalizing and whatnot. As for Jon Hamm, the face I get; but Frank Castle was a beast of a man, at least the way he was conceived by Zeck et al. Would be a shame to not see that continue. Yeah, the face is spot on. Exactly how I would picture Frank in the real world. But you're right, Hamm would really have to hit the gym to really pull it off. I know a lot of people want Tom Jane to come back, and while I thought he did a solid job in the '04 movie...he just looks nothing like Frank from the comics. I really dug the Punisher "Dirty Laundry" short film he put together, though. In fact, he actually looks a helluva lot more like Frank now that he's gotten a bit older. Like the touch of bringing back the Battle Van, too. Ummm, why have I never seen that before? THANK YOU!!!! That was fucking awesome!

Like I said, even if Tom Jane doesn't totally personify The Punisher in physical form...there's no doubt that the motherfucker COMPLETELY gets him from a mental and psychological standpoint. He supposedly grew up loving the Steven Grant, Mike Baron, Chuck Dixon, Carl Potts run on the Punisher...so you knew the guy wanted to stay true to the character. Replace the CGI gore bullshit with good old fashioned practical effects (I beg you Paul Verhoeven...Robocop, Total Recall, Predator, The Thing, etc...PLEASE) and this is EXACTLY how I envision The Punisher making his big screen/silver screen appearance.

Meh, I'll pass. Staying with the superhero character experience, I'd suggest Stephen Amell who plays Oliver Queen in 'Arrow.' The kid is ripped, has a square jaw and would just need some hair dye.

If it's the hairline, how about Christopher Meloni? If it's to be on Netflix, it can't be someone too famous like Hardy. Another selection that I wouldn't have thought of is Tamoh Penikett from BSG (credit Fan Cast) who definitely fits the look. I don't know, I just want to see it happen.

Hardy's doing another Netflix series right now I don't know this Amell guy, but he looks young as shit. If you're getting someone to play Frank, I think ideally it has to be someone in their mid-late 40's. Hardy is actually older than I thought he was, but he's fucking 5'9. I say get Jon Hamm, tell him to pack on about 15-20 lbs of muscle (not easy, I know) and become the ideal version of Frank. Or just bring back Tom Jane who has been dying for years to reprise the role. Even financed the "Dirty Laundry" short film out of his own pocket.

I have no problem admitting I am impressed by another guy's build. Same holds true for the numerous 'draftniks' on this forum, too. Yea, I guess you guys are right about him being too young. I can't stand Meloni, but he's Mike Zeck perfect. Hamm definitely also has the face for it. The guy from BSG that was suggested is intriguing...

Just finished watching. SPOILERS ahead, so stop reading if you haven't finished the series yet.
I absolutely loved the series. I especially appreciated the long-game approach to developing this as a series (as evidenced by not revealing a titular costume until the last episode despite it's being a part of the title sequence). Flying against that is their decision to eliminate such a key character such as Urich, especially if they decide to pursue the Born Again storyline in some way. They've already hinted at Karen Page's instability numerous times, so I can only hope that they do in fact bring in that narrative. I think that Bullseye and Elektra are locks for the series, but hopefully it will be done in the same measured approach the series has taken thus far and will not be another "hey, here's more costumes" ala the Batman movies. D'Onofrio was spectacular as The Kingpin, especially during the breakout scene. As was said before, this series is the perfect launch point for a Punisher one. With DD constantly wrestling with his methods versus his morals, you need someone who isn't a villain that would give him perspective, someone who exceeds that line he has set for himself. Enter Frank Castle, a person bent on exerting his quasi-nihilistic approach to seeing those he deems "bad", destroyed. The Punisher would almost serve as a (a)moral touchstone for Murdock. That, plus a DD/Punisher/Bullseye throwdown would be orgasmic.
