It's all very nice and good if he gets suspended, but whatever amount of games he sits out, even 7-8 games (doubtful), I'm sure in his mind is a small price to pay for a fourth Superbowl. Anybody would take that tradeoff. He's not getting another chance. It will be meaningless if they allow the Superbowl victory to stand. And whatever the initial penalty is (to make it look good) it will ultimately be reduced down to 2 or 3 at the most.

is this guessing what it will be or saying what it should be? guess I think it should be 2, but league will start with 6, then NFPLA will appeal, then it will be cut to 4, then Jets will appeal and it will go up to 5, then Krafty will appeal and it will go down to 3.5, then for some reason Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will be all confused and protest, and it will go to 4.25. Then Alan Dershowitz will get involved as well as Gloria Aldred, the Ghost of Arlen Spector, Donald Trump's hair and Kanye West. The final punishment will be one quarter, but after then Brady will have to throw lefty every other quarter. Looting will ensue. Peter King will praise the decision but also say he can see the other side. Goodell will be replaced by Condeleeza Rice. Woody will sell jets when he is named Jeb Bush Bush's running mate.

Brady will be fined $25,000 per ball for the Colts game and will be suspended 5 games for being a Dooschbag. The Pats will be fined the max and forfeit their 2016 2d round pick for refusing to fully co-operate in the investigation. Bill Belidick will be suspended immediately and through the first game of the season for allowing this sort of crap to continually happen under his watch.

And judging by the fact that they have been punished in the past and continue to do it, none of this will be a deterrent to doing it again. They kick Blackmon, Rice and Hardy out of the NFL, but this is ok.

I would compare to other game day infractions.

Devil's advocate...Spygate was 8 years ago and Pats have no infractions since. How is this "continual"?

I would compare to other game day infractions. you can't compare it to beating women or using drugs, and to be honest Brady made his own bed with his smarmy dishonesty. All he had to say was he liked soft balls and didn't realize he was asking to break rules and the league would have tripped over itself to bury it in the same incinerator the spygate tapes ended up in.

Where would you put it in comparison with stickum (Rice), vaseline on jerseys (Schlereth), leaving the tarp off the field (Shula) (just the infraction..sans the smarminess)

Start with the tarp, that was bullshit there should have been a huge furor over that, especially since it no doubt knocked the Jets out of a SB. The benefit was to a team as a whole and not an individual. Stick 'em and vaseline gave individual players a decided advantage. Schlereth to his credit said, "ya got me" and took his medicine, I don't remember if Rice came clean or not.

Shula has chimed in about how the Phins were sqeaky clean. Him and his over priced steaks. Rice might have taken some hits to the head. In a single conversation he called Brady a cheater then went on to talk about his use of stickum, which he admitted was against the rules but wasn't a big deal...because...wait for it....EVERYBODY DID IT!.

I am also including events which are widely believed to have happened, i.e. locker room spying, jamming the signal to opposing QB, videoing opposing team's walk-through, etc...
