*sigh Really? These "tit sucking momma's boys and girls" are some of the people who willingly volunteer to serve. As for the rest of the "tit sucking momma's boys and girls"...would you really want them to protect you? Do you think the ones that willingly volunteer want pansy asses next to them on the field? All volunteer army > forced conscription army 3 months of boot camp and they won't be wussys anymore and learn there is no such thing as a last winner. FYI I saw a police poster a while back that said 5000 teenagers died on NJ highways that year. That's the yearly avg.for deaths in Vietnam, and every bit as horrible a way to die. Military service keeps our kids safe and teaches them to grow up at the same time. I do see your point, don't get me wrong. So.....if kids are all pussies, is it their fault? No. It's the fault of the parents that raised them.

The most fatalities there have been on NJ highways in ONE year was less than 700 TOTAL of all ages. "Military service keeps our kids safe"...I'll just leave that one alone. I was gonna say that. I think total fatalities for the whole country is 41,000/year...and it would be hard to assume that one of the smallest states accounted for almost 14% of all fatalities. But then I remembered how shitty drivers from New Jersey are.

You forgot intense training in snooty responses. I know we like to joke with FFF about the French Military, but people need to read up on the French Resistance. Those 2 chicks were pretty tough. Hey now. LOL In all seriousness, one of my biggest regrets is being too young to talk with my grandfather about that period and the risks he took. I would love to have a drink with him now.

Cowboys, Ravens, Bengals, Browns, and numerous other teams participated in this as well. Who cares, anyway? Military worship is silly, and doesn't change the fact these sports teams are businesses. If you think anyone in business does anything nice just to be nice, you're a fool. It's not worship, it's appreciation. It's no more silly than worshipping football players. Some people dream of playing pro ball, I dreamed of serving my country. Military people are no better than anyone else IMO, it does not mean people can't respect what they do and the sacrifice they make. Which, itself, is pretty stupid, too. Either way, this country goes so overboard with the ball-washing of the military - as though being a soldier automatically makes them a person worthy of adoration and respect. If this country actually wanted to show appreciation for GOOD soldiers, instead of silly little ceremonies during sports games, they should try fixing the freaking VA and not leave these guys buried under mountains of paperwork that never even get looked at - effectively leaving veterans hanging around with their dicks in their hands hoping their medical issues sort themselves out because that's more likely than the VA ever getting shit done. Oh, or maybe instead of deploying these guys out into the fucking desert to do nothing but sit on their hands because they aren't being given a job to do while they're there, and waiting around for fucking ISIS, maybe they could be like, "Oh, you've already put in your service? You've already deployed numerous times? Oh, your term is almost up anyways and you've got a fiancee and kids waiting at home for you? Yeah, sure, go ahead and stay home". But, no, they tell 'em to suck a dick and get bent. But, hey, at least one random soldier got honored at a football game. That makes it all worthwhile.

I think this whole story is a little misleading.
The military pays out plenty of money for advertising and promotions. You think all those cool commercials for all branches of the service are run on national TV networks for free?
This is just another offshoot of marketing/advertising dollars being spent...it's just that those dollars are being spent in non-traditional ways.
This is just another story of another politician looking to make headlines about something.

You are conflating private business with the federal government. The NFL cant fix the VA. That is up to the schmucks in DC. The ineptitude of our gubmint is why many of these men and women suffer.

He makes a valid point. Everyone is all "support the troops" until they come home and the bill comes due. And the difference between supporting them and everyone else is they actually put their asses on the line. So I will file that bill under "essentials" b.c if they go bye-bye all this goes bye-bye. Just the way I see it.

And this surprises you? Excuse my french but WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN? The NFL(along with every fucking goddamn stinking franchise out there) has always been motivated by PROFIT. Otherwise, you really think they'd do anything if it did not result in some cash coming back their way?

Suurrrre.... It's all a bunch of pretty well-thought out words(Best PR-Spin I've seen to date) but the underlying theme remains : If there was no profit in it, it ain't happening.
