Texans waived SS D.J. Swearinger.
The 57th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Swearinger wore out his welcome quickly under no-nonsense coach Bill O'Brien, struggling mightily in coverage and often taking bad angles in run defense. The Texans tried trading Swearinger before cutting him, but found no takers, likely because of his bad game tape. Still, Swearinger is only 23 years old and will likely be claimed off waivers.

I liked him when he came out of college, but he has been a huge disappointment in the pros. Might be worth a shot if Macc still believes in him.

Sounds like a worse Pryor My thoughts exactly. I liked Swearinger in college, but we already have a strong safety who struggles in coverage and takes bad angles in run defense.
