I'd probably stop being a Jets fan if Woody and the Jets operated like this. For real, the idiots are being most vocal but any fan with half a brain can't be buying this bullshit. You know there are real pats fans that aren't idiots who are probably extremely embarrassed at what is going on right about now. I mean, this is like a 7 year old kid making up the most ridiculous lies to cover up his wrongdoing. And every detail you ask about he comes up with some other ridiculous explanation for.
Parent: "So you didn't eat the cookies?" Lying child: "No. The neighbor stopped by and he came in the kitchen and ate it." Parent: "But the neighbors are at Disney World this week." Lying child: "He ate them before they left." Parent: "But the cookies were here yesterday, the neighbors left three days ago. And you have crumbs on your lips." Lying child: "Those aren't crumbs. I don't even know what a crumb is. I've never even seen a cookie before."

You cheated. Just STFU and take your medicine like even your owner said you would until he got all butthurt that the penalty seemed too harsh. The penalty is what it is because you fucknuts continue to cheat every year. You're just lucky you only get caught about once every 5-7 years.

Is it legally possible to increase the punishment at this stage for this sham of a "rebuttal". I mean getting caught doing a meh cheating is one thing, I honestly don't think the ball inflation makes that much of a difference but the lack of backbone and the lying coming out of NE is just nausiating.
I would ask one question at the hearing if I was Goddell; "Do you really think everyone is this stupid?"

The Pats as a franchise are making themselves look like fools. If I were advising them, I'd tell them to withdraw the appeal, and accept the punishment. Call Brady and tell him to drop out of sight, and go on vacation, and keep his mouth shut. The party line would be: While we don't agree with the penalty, we reluctantly accept it. Hopefully, they continue to deny, lie, and squirm as this is really entertaining. The best case scenario is that additional information is developed which implicates Mumbles, and old man Kraft, followed by the NFL increasing the penalties for deception.

Goodell has to understand that that this is not just him vs. Kraft and the Cheatriots.
He must see that this is 31 teams, their fans, the league, and everything that's good about the NFL vs. the fucking scum of the league.
Do the right thing Rog.

Oh man, the Pats are just digging deeper. They're now contradicting themselves.
Their rebuttal to the Wells Report now says that the equipment guys didn't do anything wrong, that the deflator talk was in reference to one of the guys trying to lose weight. lol...are you kidding me? I thought it was an article from The Onion satire site when I first saw it.
Kraft has now trapped himself in some lies and is confusing himself. A very basic question now is, If the Patriots are saying those staff members did nothing wrong then why did they suspend them without pay? The NFL didn't tell the Pats to suspend those guys. The Patriots know those guys deflated the balls and that's why they were suspended. Right out of the gates back in January the Patriots damage control approach was to insulate Brady and Belidick, to pin the deflation on the equipment guys, and to come down on those guys for going off the reservation and acting on their own. Now the Patriots rebuttal says those guys didn't deflate the balls, that the guy was in the bathroom to relieve himself, and they're going back to "atmospheric conditions and the Ideal Gas Law."
The perfect analogy I heard yesterday was the scene from the movie, A Few Good Men, when Jack Nicholson is pressured on the witness stand about why he needed to transfer Santiago off the base if he wasn't in danger. Nicholson said his guys always follow orders and that Santiago wasn't to be harmed. But if that's true then why was Santiago in danger and in need of being transferred? Why the two orders?
If the Patriots are standing behind their equipment guys and believe they did absolutely nothing wrong, then why were they suspended (without pay) a few days after the incident? The bottom line - Kraft ordered the Code Red.

The Patriots need to look in the mirror and realize that as they keep fighting this they're digging themselves a bigger mole. The organization has reached a dork in the road and has to decide which way to go, either keep up this charade or just come clean and accept their punishment. They can't say now that their guys did nothing wrong AND yet still punished them without pay in January because they did the deflation on their own without the Patriots knowledge. The Pats have backed themselves into a no win situation, it's a Match-22, they're damned if they do and damned if they won't.

They tried to use the ball boys as the escape goat and it totally backfired. Guess those texts weren't deleted after all!

Those two guys were suspended w/o pay AFTER the Wells report came out. Which means the Patriots, at that time, believed they did something wrong. You don't suspend w/o pay unless those people are guilty. Otherwise you will have a lawsuit on your hands. That's HR 101. If you're still investigating it then you suspend w/pay until the investigation is over. You can't suspend someone w/o pay, admitting their guilty, then turn around and say they did nothing wrong. Also, Krafts statement directly after the Wells report came out is contradictory as well. He comes out and says they will accept any penalty and move on. This too admits guilt. If they didn't believe that something went wrong then they would have said that from the beginning as soon as the Wells report came out. The Patriots have no chance of winning this appeal. Brady on the other hand has a better chance since there is no direct evidence on him. I could see his getting appealed down to 2 games instead of 4.
