"We bought the Porsche, we've given him the keys, he can't crash it. Bottom line."
Sounds good to me. As much as I don't want him to see that field I'm glad Willie is in the locker room.

“Geno’s career, right now, is extremely turbulent,” Colon said, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. “He was never ready to be the starting quarterback of the New York Jets. When Mark [Sanchez] went down [with a season-ending shoulder injury in the 2013 preseason], he was thrown into the fire and he was forced to cook. Everybody knows in this league, to be a quarterback, which is the No. 1 position on the field, it’s a maturation period you have to go through. And it takes the mental, the physical, and everything to go along with it, to be the best, or even be in the top 10.
“Now, Geno, with that said, has made his mistakes. He’s said some things where you look at him like, ‘What are you talking about?’ But I think that’s all about his maturation period. And I think right now, like [teammate Antonio Cromartie] just mentioned, we bought the Porsche. We’ve given him the keys. He can’t crash it. Bottom line. He can’t crash it. We need him to be on top of his game. And we’re doing everything we can as an offensive line to make him comfortable back there.”
This would all sound a lot better if Colon didn't suck so much.

So Geno is a Porsche? And Colon helps illegally park it in a tow-away zone about 3 times per game.

Geno would be a 66 GTO, all the power and speed to run with any one, not so good in the corners, and the breaks could be better.

Pretty sure the Porsche is referring to all the pieces around Geno, hence why he can't crash it...
...but Tebow would be one of those minivans with a Jesus fish and family stick figure window decals

Some defender he went up against in college called him out as being soft and vowed to hit him and that he hates that and it will wreck his game. And he did it and was right. I lost all faith in Geno that day and it really hasn't come back. Was rookie season. Forget who it was, maybe a former teammate of his? He was on point tho. Geno is soft. You can't change it unfortunately.

I think this is the right approach. Now that Geno has 2 turbulent years under his belt, he has a good coaching staff, with a QB friendly OC, and some more weapons to play with. I am certainly not ready to give up on him right now but if he fails to cut his turnovers down and if the offense does not reach at least middle ground in the NFL then maybe it is time to move on.
