Does not sound like we are in the mix, but with these things, you never know. Hope we jump in there and snag him. Fitz is going to need all the protection he can get and our o-line is one piece away from being pretty damn good.

Anyone know this guys deal? Is he a FA that has been holding out on signing a deal for this long? Seems like half the league has flirted with this guy.

If Willie Colon is an opening day starter, we're in trouble.

Evans was allegedly meeting with the Seahawks over the weekend. However, they have cash/cap problems, and their Kam Chancellor is holding out with a year left on his contract. In the coming years, the Jets O line will be a priority, either through draft, free agent or development. I've said it before, Nick and Brick aren't getting any younger, and when their skills diminish, or injuries set in, there's big trouble afloat.

Kam has already said he's sit out the entire season, which is always BS....these guys eventually sign once they start losing game checks.

My guess is that since he was released after all of the free agency $$ was thrown around, that he was waiting until late in TC to see if he could get a better deal from a contender that might have lost someone due to injury or just plain ineffectiveness of a lineman. There was really no reason for him to rush into a deal earlier than this unless someone was willing to meet his asking price. Nobody was, so it is time now to sign for the best situation that is out there.

It seems the only team he's actually met with is the Seahawks if I'm not mistaken. When they say "choosing" his team they make it sound like he's juggling multiple offers. Does he even have one?

Just trying to squeeze a lil more money from Seattle. And not have to deal with the rigors of camp at age 33.

Apparently a $4M one/year contract to protect Peyton.
