What is there to "settle" anyway? It's not like Tommy has any leverage. You cheated. No I didn't. Ok we'll reduce your punishment. Sure

What is there to "settle" anyway? It's not like Tommy has any leverage. You cheated. No I didn't. Ok we'll reduce your punishment. Sure Agreed. Also, reports earlier today said the NFL and Brady's team were "nowhere near settlement" and tomorrow's "settlement talks" were actually going to be legal arguments from both sides. All of a sudden it's no suspension, no admission of guilt and a $50K fine. No shot. Plus, if that was the "settlement," the NFL would just be better off taking it to verdict. What was gained by the NFL in this supposed "settlement," $50K? C'mon.

This makes no sense. After all this time arguing, going back and forth and taking it to Federal court he's saying the NFL is going to fold? That they'd go from 4 games to 0 suspension, no acceptance of guilt and just a $50K fine?
Why not just take your chances in court with the judge? I would think the absolute worst the NFL could do in a ruling is the same as this suggested settlement, maybe without the $50K, right? After all this time and spending millions on lawyers, etc the NFL thinks that letting Brady off with just a $50,000 fine is the BEST they can do? Crazy.
