Look underneath the laptop, there should be a 5-6 digit Service Tag number, that may help when you call Dell Support. Wondering if your son's may have a bad power supply? Where did you order them from and can you return it? I know that's not the best short term solution though. I've bought nothing but Dell pcs for the past 15 years and have had nothing but excellent service - did you buy these from a 3rd party vendor?

Exactly what I was thinking, but he said the sopne's stuff is working on the dauphne's laptop, so that isn't it. But I do think it has something to do with the power, possibly a bad connector on the laptop/motherboard. All it takes is a solder to be bad.

Sounds to me like the boy Christened the laptop and downloaded a virus in the process.

I bought it from Dell, but their tech was not allowed to provide assistance because according to Dell's records, I do no not have the laptops. I checked my Order status and it says "in processing" with an expected delivery date of 9/23. LOL

I was gonna say this yesterday, somebody once told me don't buy anything Dell. I've bought from Dell a lot in the past. Always very pleased with the products. Only ever had one problem in the past and they sent a tech to my house in less 24 hours to fix the computer.

Sounds like a bad mother board, you're going to need to return or exchange it.

Man that blows.
I have a solution......
Take daughters computer.
Give it to Son.
Problem solved.
A father/son bond should always be tight, girls are all emotional and stuff.
When she's older she will break your heart and bring some punk ass boyfriend home and you will be lookin for your son to step in, he will be all like "pop, you do remember when you stiffed me with that Dell laptop don't you?, get fucked"
