the jets played one of the most complete games i've ever seen. the defense was awesome and the luck's escape abilities kept the colts from being absolutely pummeled. gore is a tough runner and they are lucky he fumbled. i was surprised to see cromartie out there so much. where was williams? the jet offense seemed to be playing rope a dope for much of the 2nd and 3rd quaters. the comeback td after the colts scored was huge but there were times when they couldn't extend a drive beyond 1 or so first downs. special teams? no great returns made or given. quigly has trouble with distance but he also made acouple of short kicks that pinned the colts inside their 10.
so now they're 2-0 with a disraveling philly team coming in. records are not necessarily about how good the opponent is but when you see them during the season. they beat an inept cleveland team and a beat up colts team. they will take the wins, of course, but it should give them plenty of good reasons to keep working hard and preparing. they will need to overcome the loss of decker and who knows who else will get banged up during the next game or even practice. fitz, if nothing else has shown he deserves to be the starting qb through the break. if they continue to win then he stays for the season.

yet this team was a 7 point underdog last night and thoroughly handled the Colts. nobody thought they were going to win. did the offense underwhelm? yes - but that's ok if the defense is going to dominate like they did.
im confident in this team and it's abilities.

I thought Williams played well. Had a couple of pressures and was very good against the run. The guy is a rookie, can't expect him to look like an All Pro out there.

Fitz still scares me chucking the ball up there at times.
Lack of rushing attack last night was concerning as well.
Trying to temper my enthusiasm

Trying to temper my enthusiasm chucking the ball up? he attacked the Dolts weakness: their secondary. drew a couple of penalties, even in double coverage. the 1 INT was unfortunate but not the end of the world

My only concern is one that really isn't going to be able to be sussed out; how much the penalties may have figured into the victory. Were the Colts so overwhelmed by the Jets defense that they had no choice to commit the penalties or are they just awful? Or were the refs flag-happy? Seems nit-picky on the surface, but there's a lot of hidden yardage and momentum changes there.

Some were by them shooting themselves in the foot, some were holding calls because they were getting beat, and PI calls are always up and down. But that's why I can't hate on the Jets taking shots down field. These days with the refs calling for just touching a player, you might as well throw it up and more then likely you'll get a flag in your favor.

You guys should be thrilled with last night game, its just what the Jets are.
Stiffling D, do just enough on offense. Absolutely NO reason for Fitzy to take chances
"The Jets are who we thought they are!"

There's not one negative from this start, we are 2-0 and we just beat an AFC contender in their house on Monday night football.
We've turned the ball over 10 times in 2 games, we have an offense that looks dare I say it, good!
The defense looks as advertised and we are gettin stable Quarterback play, penalties are down and we look well coached, disciplined and organised.
This is the NFL, you are not gonna have your way every damn snap, other teams also make plays.
How about a few mentions for guys like Pryor, he's had 2 great games, Skrine looks legit and Gilchrist looks solid.
I'm absolutely amped the fuck up about the feelin around this team on and off the field.
If I was to reach at one negative, it would be Ryan shanksalot Quagmire, get him off this team.
