Not trying to be argumentative, but Marshall has been a stud on the field every team he has played for. The only issue with him was/can be the off the field issues. Hopefully he truly is past those and is fully focused on football because he is the best WR we have had in a long time. He was the favorite move of the off season for me and a lot of people I'm sure.

Def at the very top with Revis. But Revis had to come back here, that was clear to everyone. Marshall tho, that was the best move to me I think... and those assholes in Chi were acting like they stole a 5th rd pick from us. LOL. Dude almost singlehandedly has transformed the offense.

I agree man, the difference in the offense this year compared to last year is incredible. It could be that fitz is just a lot smarter with the ball than geno but marshall changes the entire way we can approach games. So stoked to see what he does next week.

What I'm lovin from Fitz and Bowles right now is that they bring a sense of calmness and composure to their positions. Geno and the Sanchise always played like the weight of the world was on their shoulders, probably because they mirrored the behaviour of their emotional nutcase of a coach. The Jets have taken on the identity of Bowles, cool as a cucumber, calculated, disciplined and smart.

I'm not sure how far off the field you mean, but Marshall's intensity wears on people after a while and the lockerroom kind of disintegrated after his "unacceptable" speech. He and Cutler are like night and day (ha ha) or oil and water, with Cutler's "don't care" lackadaisical approach to everything. Many people can't take Marshall's kind of intensity for extended periods. Seems like he is in the right environment for him now.

I think hyper-competitive guys like Marshall become problems when they are on a sub .500 team. They can't stand losing and it comes across in a bad way when they are doing a lot of it. That is why they are worth the risk to me. If we suck then we probably won't give a shit what his attitude might be. Maybe he could disintegrate us to a top 3 pick for a QB He's one of the hardest workers on the team and he brings it every Sunday (and Monday). You need some guys on your team with some fire.

Really hope he feels at home here and this isn't just a stop on the way somewhere else. We are paying him just over half of what Revis gets. Glad to see it's a 3 year contract.
"Marshall's base salary now jumps from $7.5 million to a guaranteed $9 million in 2015. Set to make $9.5 million in 2016 (up from $7.9 million) and $7.5 million in 2017, the 31-year-old pass catcher will earn a total of $1.3 million more in guarantees over the life of the deal."
"Darrelle Revis signed a 5 year, $70,121,060 contract with the New York Jets, including $39,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $14,024,212. In 2015, Revis will earn a base salary of $16,000,000. Revis has a cap hit of $16,000,000 while his dead money value is $39,000,000."
