I just got this and I can't tell you how fantastic it is to hear "new" versions of live songs of which I have every note memorized. Fresh versions of Dicky and Derek wailing together, Greg's voice as great as it ever sounded, Berry's driving bass lines, what was undoubtedly the greatest of the Allman Bros. time. I can't recommend enough for fans buy this!

It includes songs from the final night of the Fillmore East, Bill Graham wanted the Allman Bros to close the theater as its final act, the Beach Boys were scheduled to appear as well and they wanted to close, he told them pack yer shit and get out of here lol...they went on though and the Brothers closed the place going on stage at 3am. You can tell the crowd is exhausted and somewhat subdued however the band sounds fantastic (disc 6).

I've listened to the shorter version of the concert - it's pretty good. I've been listening to this a LOT recently - fuckin' Clapton is GOD... Clapton is GODIf you haven't heard anything from this - get it as quickly as possible |
