Seriously?
Did these writers watch this game? Quality opponent? I am more concerned about the defense, which looked like chickens running around with their legs cut off, than the offense which was never supposed to amount to much and has been overachieving. Twenty points in yesterday's debacle was not bad. The defense has all the money poured into the Dline and secondary and this is what we get? Just because of one player (Pryor) missing? They looked like a bunch of out of control scrubs in there yesterday who never had a lesson in tackling. I don't get what the problem is with this. It keeps showing up, then gets cleaned up, then reappears. It showed up in pre-season, then again in the season, and now again yesterday. Every time Bowles cleans this up it seems to re-rear its ugly head. That was the most disorganized display of defensive playing I've seen in a long time. Is Bowles going to be able to make some adjustments? Did they even have a game plan for this game? What was it? Things did not go to hell with Fitz breaking his ligament - no reason Geno couldn't play the same game plan. I'm officially concerned.

They have no answer for quarterbacks with a quick release. They also struggle against screens, pitches and stretch plays to the outside, this LB corp needs a major overhaul and Milliner needs to get on the field and replace Cro.

We can stop runs up the middle but that's about it. No speed on the edges or outside.

I had posted in an earlier threat there was plenty of blame to go around, and the loss did not fall on any single person or unit. This includes the game plan, and coaching. The crown jewel of the Jets, the vaunted D line looked like fools, the defense as a whole looked clueless, like they had been out all night partying, no tackling, poor coverage, and no halftime adjustments. This being said, the Raiders came ready to play from the opening whistle, and kept their foot on the Jet's neck. They played quick, tough, and then in my opinion to sent the Jets a strong message by not only winning the game on the scoreboard but physically punishing Jets players. Sure, the starting QB went down, the starting safety was out, as well as, the starting center, but work needs to be done. Bowles better get on top of this quickly.

They sure poured a ton of money into the defense to have so many holes and be able to do only one thing. What happened to Bowles' using 7 db's? Maybe they shouldn't have cut Jarrett if they're so short on safeties

The defense was putrid yesterday. We have no speed on the edge and it really shows. The tackling is a disgrace.
But I am more concerned with the OL. If we cant block, we cant compete. We need to be able to run the ball. Hoping Mangold is able to come back. Brick looks like he is ready for golf. Colon is so fat he can barely get out of his stance.

This is true but the defense was supposed to be elite and carry the offense First couple of weeks we binged on turnovers. We came back against the Redskins b.c of turnovers. When we arent turning offenses over we look pretty average. The book is out. Our LBs are awful in space and we have some very poor tackling on the back end. I think Bowles tried to bench Cro but McDougle got hurt the first play he was in. Tired of hearing about him too. He is made of glass. One thing about Cro, at least he plays hurt. I thought he would be on IR after seeing that knee in Wk 1 and I am sure it is still bothering him. So I dont like to pile on him but the tackling is just awful. Always has been.

Our linebacking corp is dogshit, we need some heavy investment in this unit goin forward. We need some speed and pass rush off the edge.

Lining up Williams as a safety was beyond brain dead. Some of The coaching in that game was hard to believe. The Punt the calls the defense formation was atrocious no panic no moves being made at all til the 4 qtr. That was pure shit all around but then again who really cares anymore I Mean Really who cares
