Same Old Falcons
After starting out the season all gang busters with their new HC, the Falcons can't seem to get out of their own way. They have lost to the miserable Saints (at least they were miserable back when the Falcons played them) and now th pathetic 49'ers with Blaine Gabbert as the QB! This team has a "franchise" QB that can't even get out of the first round of the playoffs after 8 years. Every year it's their year, until it's not.
Did anyone here want Dan Quinn as the next Jets' coach? Granted he is a rookie HC but his decision last Sunday got national attention.

Without hesitation, Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn sent in the field-goal unit.
Down four points. With just over three minutes remaining. Two timeouts left.
Go figure.
The Falcons trailed 17-13 to the Blaine Gabbert-led San Francisco 49ers and stood at the 1-yard line on fourth-and-goal. Quinn didn’t even appear to consider going for it.
The field goal was good. The ensuing loss was wholly predictable at that moment.
The decision was regrettable immediately. If the Falcons failed to score on fourth down, they would have pinned the 49ers and Gabbert, who had 33 turnovers in his 28 career NFL starts (including Sunday), in a precarious spot trying to salt the game away

The team with a record of 6-2 didn’t look any better than the one that was 2-6. Actually, it looked worse.
The quarterback who’s been starting for eight seasons and was gift-wrapped a $103.75 million contract didn’t look any better than the one who was left on the sidewalk by Jacksonville, in a bin next to the recyclables.

The Falcons’ coach, the one who preaches playing fast and physical and above all else aggressive — he turtled. Down by four points with three minutes left and the ball on the San Francisco one-yard line, Dan Quinn chose to kick a field goal.
The Falcons’ started the season 5-0. But they look far closer to the team that has dropped three of four games since, including Sunday’s nauseating performance against the remains of the San Francisco 49ers.
