This seems to be the new injury in football as Keenan Allen just got this last week. According to some sites this is an injury seen more commonly in car accidents, not football.
Sounds like Indianapolis is a circus, as another article (before they finally beat Denver this Sunday) talked about the dysfunctionality of the team and how the GM/FO was forcing playing and personnel decisions onto Pagano. Which is reminiscent of the Idzik/Rex partnership.
Now there is speculation by some local writers that Luck and his people might say screw it in 2017 when he becomes a FA as they are doing nothing to protect their franchise QB investment. Kind of ironic how he called the Jets organization a shit show and he gets treated this way by the Colts. The Jets would never do this to their QB. Bet he'd love to be on the Jets right now.
Luck, according to Pagano, was injured when he scrambled on a second-and-9 play and took a hit from Denver linebacker Danny Trevathan in the fourth quarter of the Colts' victory over the Broncos on Sunday. Luck remained in the game and threw a touchdown pass to running back Ahmad Bradshaw on the next play. Despite the injury, Luck it was arguably his best game of the season, as he finished 21-of-36 for 252 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

This isn’t a one-season thing, either. Luck was pummeled as a rookie, taking 41 sacks — more than 2½ per game — and then it got really ugly. According to The Star’s Zak Keefer, Luck was hit (not sacked, but hit) more times than any NFL quarterback last season. According to ESPN over the weekend, Luck has thrown under duress more times in the past two seasons combined than anyone else in the NFL. That’s three seasons, three ugly statistics, all of them suggesting the Colts have done a poor job of protecting their franchise quarterback.
Which leads us to this season, to the multiple times Luck has suffered an injury that will knock him out of multiple games.
This can’t continue, is my point. Luck can’t keep playing behind an offensive line that gets him sacked 41 times (in 2012), gets him hit a league-high 71 times (2014), gets him hurried a league-high number of times (2013 and ’14 combined) and gets him badly injured twice (2015).
If it’s obvious to me — that this can’t keep happening — don’t think it’s not obvious to Andrew Luck.
The guy is stoic and loyal and humble and selfless, the ideal teammate in every possible way, but here’s what he’s not:
Stupid.
