Jets (yet again) failed to play a full game of football.... but i don't understand why - exactly.
1) Bowles, to me, is the embodiment of discipline. He preaches the fundamentals and values intelligence... yet, we see players making bonehead plays, miss assignments, and play with apathy for chunks of time. The defense does not play hungry. They flash, then go dormant. The scheme looks like its putting people in a position to make plays, but the players aren't making them. The front four aren't making NEARLY enough noise.
2) Turnovers seem to be escalating. It's time to start punishing players for this type of stuff. Hate to bring up B.B., but you don't fuck around in that organization. You put the ball on the ground, you're likely looking at riding the pine.
3) Players continue to look disconnected at times with the game. Is it a learning curve in his scheme? Are they experience a rex hangover and need to re-find their own intrinsic motivation? I don't know what it is, but they don't play with unity/confidence for stretches of time.
The truth is, we ought to be 7-2... The NE game was legit loss, and I believe you have to credit PHI as well, cause our offense needed to go through some growing pains there... but Buffalo? Oakland?... those were games a well organized, well executed Jets football team should have and could have won.
But we can't seem to get out of our own way.
Very disappointing

The players just aren't that good. And we have a terrible group of LBs. Harris is solid within 5 yards but he's not changing a game. There's no relentless pass rusher, or sideline to sideline guy who is all over the place.
It's not coaching because we've heard Bowles directly say to both of the biggest culprits on the defense so far, Cromartie and Davis, exactly what plays are happening and even reminded Davis in the hallways of plays that are gonna happen. And what happens? They continue to take bad angles and get beat.
In the offseason they need to draft tone setters/leaders and speed, everywhere.

I need to get some things off my chest because I'm still angry as fuck about last night.
Bowles inherited a 4-12 team with 34 holdovers from the previous regime so it's hard to get a true feel for the culture change and continued mental errors that still dog this team.
The thing I hate about this team right now is yet again the offense, it showed up for two quarters yesterday but for the most part it was awful. We are goin nowhere with Fitz, he gets credit for his leadership creds and rightly so but the cold hard facts are he makes this offense one dimensional.
How can you generate a runnin game with a stacked box every down? Why is there a stacked box, well it's pretty obvious, teams are prepared to commit to stoppin the run, you'd think that would open up the passin game but it doesn't because every defense knows the ball is not goin over their head and our one dimensional offense resorts to a game of pitch and catch to decker and Marshall with the occasional screen thrown in.
This will continue to happen when no one respects a QB's arm to generate big plays downfield and hurt teams deep, we need a QB that can consistently push the ball downfield and back a defense off us, I feel like we are bein chocked at the line of scrimmage and the passin game is painfully obvious.
Fitz is a good leader but he is never winning a game off his own back like last night, the offense and play callin is predictable and borin but it's all premeditated on the deficiencies of the quarterback.
We need a QB and heavy investment in the o-line and an infusion of speed at RB and reciecver goin forward. I can't bare to watch another game of pitch and catch dink and dunk borin predictable offensive football from this team.

This organisation is so QB starved it is tryin to make a 5 team limp armed journeyman sound like the answer. We need a Quarterback AGAIN.

Fitz said he didn't have "mental clarity" last night to explain some of his bad decisions and poor performance. I wonder if he overdid with pain killers or something

Some teams can play 1, 2, or 3 Quarters you are right the Jets need to play 4 and that's on both sides of the ball.

Very disappointing Just curious what makes you characterize Bowles as the embodiment of discipline? I think people confuse his even keeled, level headed sideline demeanor with discipline. I don't think there's really any evidence he is a disciplinarian, and as you said, turnovers are increasing. The lack of enthusiasm and inability to tackle was evident with the first pre-season game, and while occasionally it does seem like the team gets fired up, it's never for more than a quarter or two, and they always settle back down to their near-listless motions. It is really disconcerting, and disappointing, as you say

Sounds to me like Bowles needs to sacrifice someone to send a message to the players and shake things up. Has to be a player.
Demario, please report to the alter.

Still, there's something about his Football team that doesn't feel harmonized. Not often enough anyway... It's early, but 3 of the 4 losses have been riddled with suspect performance and execution. It's not a talent thing.

Something doesn't seem right about the number of non-fistfight injuries the Jets are sustaining this year. I thought the Jets had a state of the art training staff, no?
Bowles' laconic delivery is somewhere between the cartoon characters Cleveland and Droop-A-Long's..,makes Hoodie sound like Colin Firth in the Kings Speech
