Can't say I'd turn my nose up at that... Decker Harvin Cooper Kerley That's a top 3 WR corp in the league if you ask me. Amaro at TE, and good back like Ivory, sure up this o-line and there's plenty of talent of an offensive HC to work with. It would be very good....on paper. Top 5 or 10, but not Top 3.

In a perfect world where our offense is functionable I would agree that the retention of Harvin and inclusion of Amari Cooper would give us an upper-echelon receiver core. I would like to remind that the retention of B. Powell behind Ivory has the potential for hork hork wherg wherg wherginess, if Powell is given the rock ever. I would be for releasing C. Johnson end of year and promoting Daryl Richardson of Rams fame to 3rd string. I just feel that there are many teams with much better names, and teams that while they don't have the names, they have the system that allow success. Examples of the former: Packers, Bears, Broncos, Falcons, Lions. Examples of the latter: Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Saints. Listing not exhaustive though I think many would agree that the former list has far superior receiver talent than the Jets, and the latter upon review seems to have a commonality in franchise Quarterbacking, an accidental strawman I didn't intend, I assure you, but funny upon review. The potentiality is there. Perhaps with a new OC. Yes...to that wolf's smoking jacket and your post.

No way the Giants don't go OL. Especially if they have pick of the litter. Gregory and Mack as bookends for the Raiders would be scary. Especially if they land Harbaugh. They could get better quick. I can still see Cooper going to Jacksonville, Raiders or Washington before us.

It would be very good....on paper. Top 5 or 10, but not Top 3. So we differ from 3 to 5? I'll meet you at 4 1/2. But seriously, there are some damn good WR pairs and triplets out there in this league. Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Green Bay, Arizona, Denver and others may be better than the guys you mentioned. Also, Cooper isn't in the NFL yet so the automatic assumption you're making is that he will not only be solid #1 WR but probably a Top 10 NFL WR in order to pull the Jets group into Top 3, 5, etc. Rather than say we'd have the best WR corps we could probably safely say that the addition of Cooper and the retention of Harvin and Decker would mean we'd have one of the best #3 WRs in the league. Just think through the teams I mentioned above and when you realize that I didn't even include Indy (TY Hilton, Reggie Wayne, Hakeem Nicks, Moncrief) you'll realize that projecting the Jets into the Top 10, let alone the Top 3, still requires a debate. Just my opinion.

I am not denying Coopers talent at all in fact I would be happy if we got him, my concern is he is somewhat small and am wondering if he can take a big time hit in the NFL...that being said I think Kevin White is the guy I really like. He is big, catches everything and is a terror after the catch to put down. He is a certified Larry Fitzgerald with Boldin qualities. He would complement Deckers route running and Harvins speed perfectly. To address this concern, CBS Sports addresses his build and have him listed at 6-1, 210 although I've seen him reported lighter elsewhere. This review is prior to this season:
COMPARES TO: Marqise Lee, Jaguars -- There are plenty of similarities to another former No. 9, Marqise Lee, however -- and not all of them complementary to either of the 2012 All-Americans. Cooper is noticeably thicker in his chest and thighs than Lee (6-foot, 192 pounds), which may make him more likely to remain durable. He'll need to be to earn the first-round pick that Julio Jones and Roddy White received. With the only quarterback Cooper has ever known at Alabama now playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, Cooper could discover (as Lee did last year) maintaining stardom is more difficult without an experienced passer.
If you watch his game tape on Draftbreakdown.com, you'll see he has very good balance and moves smooth and effortlessly while catching...no choppiness that you see from Watkins although not as dynamic as Beckham in comparing to last year's WR's. I've always believed that most scouts (and especially Buffalo) missed on last year's best WR and the Giants got the right guy. He was my draft pick or bust last season. Easy to say now, right? But Cooper looks like a solid WR choice and we can't go wrong with what I've seen.
BTW, it's hard not to notice in Cooper's game film the presence of TJ Yeldon vs Florida - he's a shifty guy for someone his size and is great on screens. Very good hands. I wouldn't mind both of them.
Thanks for posting this...some good info! I saw some of his tape and the guy runs precise routes and pretty much catches everything. But that being said I have a funny feeling that he won't test as well at the combine especially on the 40 and he could drop. Just MO obviously because things are definitely going to change as we get closer to the draft.

As long he doesn't turn in a 4.56 or anything like that, I doubt anyone's evaluations on him will change all that much. He is fast enough, big enough and has a pretty good grasp on how to play WR.
