There's a parity among QBs in the NFC to a degree, with new guys coming on the seen and either burning bright but short (Kaepernick) or sustaining (Wilson). Cam Newton has also been a decent model of consistency (4 playoff games) but the "old guard" still haunts that Conference like Brees, Eli Manning and now Palmer making one last run at it. And of course, there's Aaron Rodgers who seems to be screwed over by a GB front office that doesn't want to help him and injuries to all his WRs. In the AFC it's really only those few elite guys, Brady/Manning/Rapelisberger. You get a couple others who dance around it like Alex Smith and maybe, going forward, Andy Dalton, but those guys are it... at least for another year or two until retirements start or Ben's arm falls off.

Out of the AFC, would have been nice to KC go to the bowl, but they are in no hurry apparently.
As its been for the past 15 years, go NFC.

the illusion of parity... Exactly. There is no parity. The rules are so heavily weighted in favor of the offense, so unless you have an elite QB, you cannot compete consistently. or cheat. the patsie success is not just the qb but having pick plays on pass routes and a generous amount of non called holding. just about any qb could be as successful as brady if they cheated to the same degree.

Either Charley's gotten senile or he needs to visit his optometrist.

Either Charley's gotten senile or he needs to visit his optometrist. I agree with him. Manning wasn't doing anything special down the field, but his receivers killed him on dropped passes. I can't recall any drops by Pats receivers and Brady has Gronk --- he's open even when he's covered. I'm not saying Manning is better than Brady, just that he had a better game than Brady this past Sunday, which should have been expected. The Pats were playing against a better D and a much better pass defense. If the Bronco's only dropped 2 or 3 instead of 9, I don't think that game would have been close at all.

If the Bronco's only dropped 2 or 3 instead of 9, I don't think that game would have been close at all. brady gets a huge edge when edelman or gronk catch those 2.5 sec pass plays. and those are mainly timing throws. it makes perfect sense. the offensive player always has an advantage on the defensive player because he knows where he's going. the defensive player needs to react to the offensive player. so when the patsies pull their pick plays and free up their receivers about 5 yards from the line the passing game is child's play. just about every friggin qb in the league can execute like this. throw in a few non holding calls by the referees and you see 15 years of team success. the bottom line is brady gets rushed, he's no better than genot.
