Yes, let's fuck with the chemistry between Fitz and Marshall, who just broke the majority of our single season receiving records. Capital idea.

Fuck the records, we didn't go to the playoffs with a cakewalk schedule and are about to grossly overpay for a below average QB. The numbers and images in that article don't lie. Franchise records are not an excuse to overpay this guy above and beyond what' he's been worth his entire career.

I didn't say we should over pay, I just said it would be stupid to fuck with the chemistry. The article is damning, but we also have two beastly receivers who are comfortable with Fitz.

The only way it makes sense, at least to me, to pay Fitzpatrick over 10 million dollars a year is if he was the last piece the team needed for a Super Bowl run. He isn't. The team made major strides last year, but is still a few pieces away. We are better off trading for Glennon (or signing RG3 to an incentive laden deal) than paying Fitzpatrick anything close to what Bradford just signed for.

So, the premise of the article is that Fitz is not very good and the jets should not pay him like a very good QB. I, like 95% of all jet fans, agree. Here is my question though: who has ever said he is worth a lot of money, and if someone has said this what team is competing with the jets for his services? After all, in order to have a market value, you have to have a "market".

people need to go check out the numbers of guys like namath or plunkett or bradshaw or elllway before being too concerned about qbr. how did he compare to manning? the point is the jets should have played better on defense. as for fitz, take a look at that overtime td play against the patsies. 4 plays to go 80 yards. how many times do you see that from any qb?
the point is the jets can do much worse and as long as they don't lock themselves into a deal with lots of potential dead money then so be it. qb's get paid a lot. imo the bigger decision is what to do with genot.

linchpin ˈlɪn(t)ʃpɪn/ noun noun: lynch-pin 1. a pin passed through the end of an axle to keep a wheel in position. 2. a person or thing vital to an enterprise or organization. How can that not be this dudes nickname if we draft him?
