So long Fitz, he isn't coming back.
The only person who reported our offer was north of 7 mil was Dick Seamen.
I think our offer was around 4-5 for 1 year, IMO Mac and Bowles couldn't care less if Fitz comes back or not, they will roll with Geno whilst we iron out Berg and Petty for the future.
Geno is playin for his future elsewhere so he might have a flash in the pan season like Fitz who knows. Either way I don't want that POS back for anything close to startin QB money cap space or no cap space, and neither does Mac I can see it in his eyes.
It's all good and well sayin they want him back, it's all lip service because they know he isn't gonna accept their offer.

There are still plenty of moves they can make to free up money to meet him halfway.

Update on our cap space (as of 5/1 per Spotrac): Active Contracts: $158,691,950 Top 51 Contracts: $146,841,950 Dead Cap: $7,382,734 Total (All): $166,074,684 Total (Top 51+Pool):$159,594,293 Total (Top 51):$154,224,684 Est. Cap Space (All):$-8,545,950Est. Cap Space (Top 51+Pool):$-2,065,559 Est. Cap Space (Top 51):$3,304,050As of today, before signing the draft class, we have $3.3 million space. Draft pool is ~$5.3 mil. We do not have money to sign our draft class, nor do we have $$ to sign a QB. Some moves will need to be made over the next few weeks. We could restructure a vet -- Decker, Marshall &/or Mangold could be candidates. Sign Mo to a long-term deal to reduce his cap hit in 2016, or trade is still possible, though less likely after the draft. Not many players are candidates for release that would save significant $$. Breno would be most likely, but it does not appear we have a replacement for him on the roster unless the CS really likes Qvale and thinks he is ready. Any other moves that might make sense? Folk cut would save 2 mil I read.

Mo, Mevis and Nick are the elephants in the room sucking up a lot of the Jet's salary. In my opinion, unless Mo provides a hometown discount, he's unaffordable and gone in a trade this year, or walks next year for a compensation pick. Mevis has again screwed the Jets by bilking them out of as much money as he could, to the detriment of his teammates, the franchise and the fans. Based on his selfishness he better produce at an extremely high level for the remainder of his contract. Nick has been a great Jet, and one of the favorites. However, he is one of the longest tenured Jets and the team will need to draft a replacement soon. So my point is, the cap situation will be resolving itself sooner than many expect.

Mr 11% of our cap space Revis definitely has not pulled his weight

I get the impression when they're asked questions about him that they are just appeasing the media to be seen as though they are actively trying to get him back, it's my belief they're plannin to move forward without him. Maybe it's hope but it's just a feelin I have when I watch Macc talk about him.

That was one expensive honeymoon for Mac and Bowles. We are in a very tough spot. We cant really throw away a season bc we are a veteran team. Our roster is going to have a lot of turnover the next couple of years. Just gotta hope the draft picks pan out. A 5 year playoff drought can turn into a 10 year one very quickly. Wanna bet? Every big move this team makes (or fails to make for that matter) seems to be geared towards years 3, 4 & 5 of the Mac/Bowles regime. If they were really in the win now mode, Fitz would be signed. They're building for the future....we better get used to the idea of a real shitty season.

Rescinding Mo's tag would give the Jets plenty of cap and a comp pick next year?
