New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis underwent surgery Thursday morning to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, the team announced.
Revis will be in a hard cast for two to three months, meaning he will be limited -- at best -- during the Jets' offseason program, which begins April 18.
The seven-time Pro Bowl selection is expected to be ready for training camp in late July, the team said.
Revis was never listed with a wrist injury. It apparently happened early in the season, perhaps as far back as Week 3. He thought it was a minor sprain and continued to play with the injury.
After the season, Revis continued to experience soreness in his wrist. He was re-examined and decided to have the surgery.

Revis withdrew from the Pro Bowl, but the reason given was a sore shoulder.
The surgery was performed by noted hand/wrist specialist Charles Melone, the head of the Beth Israel Hand Surgery Center in Manhattan.
The injury may explain why Revis struggled in a couple of games, including the season-ending loss to the Buffalo Bills. Publicly, he never mentioned the wrist -- or any other injury -- but the team believes it may have affected his ability to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage.
He missed two games, but it was because of a concussion.
Revis returned to the Jets last offseason, signing a five-year, $70 million contract after the New England Patriots declined to pick up a $20 million option. A total of $39 million is fully guaranteed. He's due to make $17 million -- all guaranteed -- for the upcoming season.

Glad he is getting it done soon. Maybe Bowles knew the wrist was an issue and that's why he played him off coverage so much the last game? Idk
