No insult taken. I don't necessarily believe in the "mysticism" of Jesus, his miracles and whatnot. I'm more into His teachings, e.g. love everyone, don't be an asshole, etc. I am 100% for science and what can be proven. Can Jesus's actual divinity be proven? No. But the message is powerful in and of itself. You'd make a good humanist. Here is a way more powerful message than that. The transaction called Justification has to do with God recognizing those who take him at his word, concerning the price Christ paid on their behalf to resolve God’s justice for their sin debt. Justification is a recognition of righteousness that comes from God to those who believe his good news, which he committed to the apostle Paul to bring to the Gentiles. The message that must be believed for God to declare a person, or recognize them as being righteous, perfectly righteous.

Wife is very Catholic and going to Sunday mass is habit now, but I'm usually in it for the message/teachings. I love the weekly dose of "do things this way" and I find going to confession cathartic. It's nice to have spiritual guidance even if I'm not on the same page, completely. Cheaper than a shrink and I get what I need. No regrets.

I find that interesting. How can you be a practicing catholic and be so confident there isn't a god? I'm more in the 99.9999999% chance there isn't a god, but I'm not practicing any religion. Not try to insult you - I'm generally curious. The Catholic belief is this persons ace in the hole, because this person believes this stupid junk. The notion of the eternal torment of the wicked can only be defended by accepting the Greek view of the immortality and indestructibility of the soul, a concept which is foreign to Scripture. I was unaware you meant your wife, I am truly sorry for saying what I said. I will hack on a Catholic all day long face to face, but not like I just did, behind their back, sorry.

Never got to talk to the pope before, how be you. Have your people been keeping sin on the table of God’s justice their entire lifetimes. Are you in charge of the ministers of righteousness who have led the way? Im a bad motherfucker.

Your Own Personal Jesus Twitter Feed Twitter would boot me down the road for reasoning with Paul. God cannot relate to you, he will not relate to you according to your former identity in Adam, Adam in rebellion, that Identity disappeared the instant you took God at his word concerning Paul’s good news message. What security we have in our union with Jesus Christ.

Are you in charge of the ministers of righteousness who have led the way? Im a bad motherfucker. You would have to be, people kissing your ring and all. But Paul goes to great length to prove beyond any shadow of a doubt, that everyone of us are continually coming short of the standard of God’s perfect righteousness. When Paul mentions sin, he does so for the purpose of having every individual realize and admit that through out the course of our daily lives, we all miss the mark of God’s perfect rightness.

Here's his wallet to prove it. Great movie, he played one of best role of all time in the film. We all are satisfying the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, and we do it with everything we do.

That is where we stand today, because we are all under the moral choice of good and bad, as Paul defines it. A person’s problem today, is not getting forgiveness for their behavior, but that they need to learn about what God’s justification is all about.

Oh for the love of Pete... Didn't Pete tell you about how God had to do for us, what we could never do for ourselves! God counts the faith of the one who agrees with him as to the reality of that person’s own unworthiness and the fact that that person must be justified by God’s gift decree. God counts that person’s faith as being that person’s righteousness.

So what are everybody's thoughts about this cross hanging around the religious people's neck? I'm sure on your drive home from work you might have this cross of the religious people.
The Greek word used for “the cross” on which Jesus was put to death is “stauros,” which denotes an upright pale or stake. It never means two pieces of timber placed across one another at any angle, but always of one piece alone. There is nothing in the Greek of the New Testament even to imply two pieces of timber.
