Here is what's gonna happen...... We are goin to sign a cheap vet on a nice backup salary. We are then gonna trade Wilk to move up for Lynch addressing a need but also restoring cap equilibrium Round 2 LB Round 3-4 OL You heard it from Europe first people. i can see them dangling wilk as trade bait during the draft. it would be nice if they get the pick they want without having to throw theirs in.

Their other option is Geno. AND FITZPATRICK KNOWS IT!!!!!! whether you want to believe it or not, genot played well enough in the 4 patsie games he's played to win. the jets should've won two of them. so i wouldn't be so happy to see genot starting if i were you.

It's 2016. We landed a man on the Moon almost 50 years ago. We've separated Siamese Twins and split the atom. It's about time we asked ourselves why we can't use these next 3 months to transplant Ryan Fitzpatrick's head onto Geno Smith's body. It really is the next big "outside the box" idea in pro football....like the West Coast offense and now, analytics in baseball. The Jets need to be pioneers here.

What's the alternative? The mighty Fitzmagic leading us to 8-8? Go youd rather go with dead above neck Geno? What. Is. Wrong. With. The. Jet fans here..? Not necessarily... But I'm not gun ho we have to sign Fitz to a lucrative deal either....I would sign him at the current offer but not more then that.

Nah..you guys are right.
Lets go with Geno...he'll win enough games to get the Jets into the playoffs this year.
I've seen the light.
Fuck you Fitz. Go read yet another book.
Geno will be the guy everyone rallies around.
He will be the leader in the locker room.
He and Marshall will easily replicate the chemistry that they had with Fitz. .
I have complete and total confidence that Geno Smith will be a top 10 QB, and throw for 30 tds and run for 5 more...
I'm ordering my Geno jersey now...

I am no fan of Geno but I am not a big fan of Fitz because... well... he's Fitz. We've seen his career and there is absolutely nothing impressive about it.
Well, I take that back. I am impressed that he has gotten over-paid for starting QB jobs. And then never lived up to the contract.
Would I rather have him as the starter over Geno? Absolutely.
But I like the way Mac is handling this. He is worrying about this season but planning for the future. Fitz may fit into that future in the short term but not for the long term. So I am willing to see how this plays out and if we lose Fitz, so be it. I just like the fact that we have a GM that is willing to play the hand he is been dealt. Not overplaying it and overpaying for players like we've done in the past. (ie: Holmes / Sanchez / etc)

much as I like that bearded Irish fuck, there ain't no way he's worth anything close to 15 million. I would be cautiously optimistic that Gino's play vs the fish 2 years ago could portend what he could do with another year in this system. Even if we get Fitz for 7 mil, the question is is Fitzie 5 times better than Gino?

Paxton Lynch will be available at 20. Their would be no need to reach for him. But he's not and never will be a franchise QB so there is no point in drafting him. He's a project with less arm talent than Petty and about as much experience in a pro style offense that Petty had. Which is none. You don't draft guys like that in the first round when you need to bring in impact players the first 3 rounds to add some much needed young talent on this team that can contribute from day 1.

You can't really argue with 158.3 laugh if you will but the one thing that stands out to me in it is the same thing that drives me crazy about fitz.....look at how many times Geno leads his receivers....how many times do you see fitz do that? most often the ball is tragically underthrown and saved by the receiver or it is WAY overthrown......damn smh
