Speculation of course
Pursuant to news Charley Casserly will be part of #Jets search, MIN OC Norv Turner is being considered. Cass & Norv worked together in DC

For OC, yes. HC, do not want.

He is talking about Norv as a HC. We aren't allowed to hire him as OC unless Minnesota fires him. No lateral moves.

Do not want him as a HC. He had trouble winning in SD with Rivers and a good talent base.

A mediocre coach and pair him with a mediocre retread QB, and we have another 5 years of mediocrity. Jets football, you got to love it.

I don't buy it
Norv is a fantastic OC but I don't see why the hell anyone would even entertain the thought of him as a HC at this point. He's already had 3 opportunities and he underachieved in Washington, Oakland and especially San Diego.

This has given him some recent appeal. I hope it's not true though.
This train is picking up steam real quick.

This makes no sense. Shouldn't the new GM hire the new HC? Or are they going to do this ass backwards again?

Lolz I could actually get on board with that provided that you keep Rex at least 20 yards away from Norv and the offense at all times.

How about someone who didn't vote for Ike?

HC/AC We may even get a good punchout! Really tho, that would be pretty good if that could happen. Rex is the "assistant" Coach and runs his Defense. Get him the fucking Corners and keep the pressure on him no job security and Players need to ball for him.

Regardless I'm not sure if I want another n00b head coach....Edwards, Mangini, Ryan....well maybe a new hc that has a clue what to do on offense. It would be nice to have a HC who is proven but having to look at Norv's neck for 16 games isn't appealing to me.

If you don't want a n00b and you don't want a guy like Turner who has had medicocre results, who is it that you do want and think you can get? There are no coaches with great track records out there, except Harbaugh or some college guys who have been a lot more miss than hit. Unless you're thinking Gruden or Cowher, in which case, I'll pass. The choice is ultimately going to be and n00b or a guy like Turner. Sounds like you won't be happy no matter who gets hired.

It's my prerogative to me miserable if I so choose. Cowher was lying in wait for Coughlin to be fired, so it looks like he'll still be waiting if he so chooses. Gruden is locked up by ESPN so he isn't going anywhere either. The Jets have to hit it out of the park with their next GM/Coach/QB combo, or we're looking at another decade of failure. Edit: Nice avatar, sugartits.
