So basically...Sanchez sucks? Well yes, but Chip Kelly being the 'offensive minded' coach will not be blamed for Sanchez's shortcomings - they will be Sanchez's. Whereas Rex will have to shoulder the blame for not developing him properly because he's not an offensive, QB minded coach stop making sense. You might get thrown off this board

Not a fan of his choice of QB's but the preparation and details I think are notch above what we have. If he has a similar failing to Rex is that he appears to believe that his scheme (O) is what matters over talent. With Rex he feels he can coach up the talent with his D schemes. Imagine Rex as his DC. Innovative schemes on both sides of the ball.

Chip Kelly, like Dan Mullen of Miss St, have education and a background in Sports Science. What puts them apart from other head coaches is their preparation and Fitness regiment that they require of their teams.
He has only been there for two seasons so he hasn't been able to fully implement his program. And admittedly, when Foles went down, they were in first place and looked like they were definitely headed to the playoffs.
If after 6 years on the job his offense is as bad as our defense, and his defense is as bad as our offense, then it would be safe to say that 100% of their fan base would be for him getting fired.

The Eagles made the playoffs last year And I'd take Chip as this teams HC anyday of the week So he's regressing, LOL How does he handle timeouts and discipline. FWIW...Rex shlt the bed with mark too. 2011 and 2012

Whereas Rex will have to shoulder the blame for not developing him properly because he's not an offensive, QB minded coach But it's not just about the QB position, too many times we looked disorganised and under-prepared.Scheming and passion alone can only go so far you have to be drilled and disciplined to win consistently.Stupid penalties and confusion happening time and again not to mention time-outs burned because of wrong personnel, incorrect formations or spurious challenges....I could go on i can't pin any of that on the GM if we're discussing the lack of talent on the roster then we can't totally remove Rex from that either, Choosing Holmes and Mason over Cotchery and Braylon was not just all on Tannenbaum and his draft room presence alone was responsible for Scotty McKnight and Tajh Boyd. don't get me wrong I'll miss Rex and until Pettine left his defense was always good to keep us in almost any game but it's become clear that Rex is half the coach without the discipline and organisation of Pettine.I'm not personally all about going for an offensive guru or QB coach I still believe defense wins championships so for me a guy like Todd Bowles could be a good hire if he understands how to coach guys up in all phases and demands precision and discipline with accountability. But I've seen enough with Rex to know he needs absolutely everything in his favour to scheme and motivate his teams to perform....and a defensive guru needs to get journeymen performing above themselves in niche roles not have his defense come apart because it no longer has 2 pro-bowlers(1 of whom must be the greatest of all time at the position)at CB. with a squad chock full of talent built by Mangini and Tanny that was primed to win he schemed and coached brilliantly and yes did a heck of a job with Sanchez as a rookie in years 1 and 2 but his team building ability was exposed as gradually the talent around those first two years eroded.Great coaches just keep on winning with interchanging parts...that's not Rex

Put it this way....Give Rex Tom Brady at QB over the last 10 years and I bet he has more rings than Belidick. In other words, just get Rex a goshdamn quarterback for the love of all things holy!!!!

Rex's time here is done but yes as Hitman says it's putting things in perspective. Kelly is revered as an offensive guru, but it looks like he got out of Sanchez as much as is possible, he's hit his ceiling. I'm glad we got to see the experiment because that's what fans wanted Rex to do, and it didn't work. I think it's quite an accomplishment to get to two CG's as a rookie, with that rookie QB. He did get results. So basically...Sanchez sucks? Let's be real, we all know that any other coach would have been wildly successful over these past 5 years with either Sanchez or Geno at QB and offensive masterminds like Schotty, Sparano or MM running his offense. I mean, Sparano is leading an excellent Raiders team, St. Louis is how many games over .500? and MM turned down multiple offers around the league especially when his former HC in Andy Reid really begged him to come to KC.

Opinions are allowed to differ around here. The fact that Rex used Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith over the past few years to beat Tom Brady and BB how many? 3 or 4 times?....that gives me just a little confidence that if we had a QB who wasn't in the bottom 20% of the league we might have actually done better the past few years. But that's just me.

In other words, just get Rex a goshdamn quarterback for the love of all things holy!!!! Belidick has multiple meetings with Brady every single week. Film study, game planning and strategy. In Rex's time here (six years!) I doubt he's ever had a single meeting with Sanchez or Geno in which they broke down game film and talked about the upcoming opponent. Not only does he know absolutely nothing about QB play, but he's never made the attempt to learn. He should be fired tonight. Keys to the facility taken from him, final paycheck handed to him, and security should escort him off the Jets property.
