www.examiner.com/article/tv-s-millie-helper-actress-ann-morgan-guilbert-has-died(She was also Yetta, the grandmother on The Nanny) Ann Morgan Guilbert, best known as Millie Helper on “The Dick Van Dyke Show” has died. She was 87 years old. The Minnestoa-born actress studied theater arts at Stanford University and began working regularly as an actress and singer by the 1950s appearing in the Billy Bernes Revues.. After a few fleeting appearances on TV’s “My Three Sons” and “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” Guilbert joined the cast of “The Dick Van Dyke Show” as neighbor and friend Millie who often joined Mary Tyler Moore (as Laura Petrie) in various schemes. She appeared in over 60 episodes of the series. While this role was certainly the one that defined her career, Ms. Guilbert continued to remain active after “The Dick Van Dyke Show” left the air in 1966. She had roles on such programs as “Good Morning World,” “Adam-12,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” “The Partridge Family,” “Emergency,” “Maude,” “Barney Miller,” “Newhart,” “Blossom,” “Seinfeld,” and “Modern Family.” As recently as this year, she appeared on two episodes of “Life in Pieces.” Concentrating mostly on TV work, Guilbert appeared in only a handful of theatrical films. This includes “The Man from the Diner’s Club” (1963) with Danny Kaye, and “Grumpier Old Men” (1995), starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Guilbert died of cancer in Los Angeles on Tuesday June 14, 2016. A widow, she is survived by two daughters.
