I can't stand Michael Phelps. That is all Not my type either, but winning some 20+ gold medals is pretty fuckng awesome.. yes, it is, but there being so many men's swimming races helps. Does any other sport offer as many opportunities? Katie Ledecky for example will not be able to swim in 1500 meter freestyle which she excels at, because they don't have that race in the olympics for women

While Phelps, Ledecky and company have numerous chances to win medals the flip side is that when you're competing in 3, 4, 5 events you are often going up against some people from other countries competing in just that one single event. Those people are specialists, focusing for their entire life and preparing for 4 years just to swim a Butterfly, for example, for two laps. The fact that Phelps or anyone else can not only win that event, but also win in freestyle relays, win the IM, etc. is even more impressive IMO. These guys are dividing their training across four different strokes and many different distances, often to compete against one guy or gal who has spent 4 years swimming nothing but 100M freestyles. I see your point but what Phelps, Ledecky and others are accomplishing is simply phenomenal, especially given that Phelps often comes back two hours after swimming one event just to qualify for another.

USWNT crapped out. Can't believe it. They just lost to Sweden in penalty kicks so won't even get out of the Group and into the medal round. Huge disappointment for the reigning Women's World Cup champions.

Congrats to Aly Raisman, an ESPN Body Issue participant, on her Silver Medal.

I get Alex Morgan's miss because sometimes the goalkeeper guesses right, but Christen Press with the total gag job sailing it over the crossbar. Hope Solo's dick is probably bigger than mine.

Christen Press should have practiced her penalty shots rather than flashing her ass in a magazine! No...wait. No she shouldn't have.

I dunno. Seems like the USWNT wasn't focused in this tournament. At least comparatively to how we have seen them in the World Cup.
Then you have Solo calling the Swedes cowards. And while I generally agree that Scandinavians are pussies you can't talk shit when you are the favorite and essentially choke.
Either way, I'd take them over our men's team any day.

I'm no soccer expert, but it looked like the women were trying to be too fancy with passes instead of maybe taking the shot.
Then in the penalty kicks, 2 of our best missing??? I disagree with Morgans attempt, kick it fucking hard regardless of which way the goalie goes.
