i think they will go with all 4 but they will take ANYTHING for Smith... You may be right but I hate it. I am not a fan of Fitz but the FO obviously liked him a lot more than Geno. So they obviously don't have faith in Geno as a starter. If they don't have faith in him and he is going to be a FA at the end of the year, just cut him loose. If Fitz goes down, we have issues whether the backup is Geno or Petty. But I don't want them to cut a useful player from the roster because they can't decide on a backup.

Bump...just to focus on WRs again.
I think Coops nailed it. I would go with these 6 and put J. Marshall on the PS. Slight chance a team could sign him as their 6th WR on an active roster but we'll see. I think it comes down to Ross and J. Marshall. Jets will keep one UDFA but not two in my opinion.
20. B Marshall, WR
21. Decker, WR
22. Enunwa, WR
23. Anderson, WR
24. Peake, WR
25. Ross, WR

The Jets like Thompkins but has he done enough to stay around? Worthy has done some good things. The really tough one is Marshall/Ross. I think the Jets would love for Marshall to earn it over Ross. But he just hasn't. He is a talented kid, but he would benefit from a year on the PS to work on his hands and his consistency.

I think the Jets know his ceiling and that he's a placeholder kind of guy. He's average and if your team is hurting a little for WRs then Kenbrell Thompkins is a good #5 or 6. But the Jets have very solid starters who are also aging a little. Brandon Marshall won't be around for more than another 1-2 seasons after 2016 I think. He also seems like a guy who might pull one of those surprise retirements, especially if Fitz isn't here next year. For that reason, we don't need a placeholder JAG type guy at WR. We need to look to the future and out of Devin Smith, Charone Peake, Anderson, Ross and J. Marshall I think we can find 2 or 3 longterm WRs. The pipeline could be strong here. I'd love to not have to draft a WR in 2017 or 2018.

While Amaro is a huge disappointment he's certainly not worse than Sudfeld or Bostick especially Sudefeld, who probably singlehandedly helped lose the previous pre season game. Guys like that stick in my memory and at least you cut Thompkins who I equate with Sudfeld thanks to keeping us out of the playoffs last year But I can see your logic if your preferred second round pick is lighting it up somewhere elseĀ One thing that confused me with Amaro is how we have tried to use him. He always seems to be on the side line or running an out - i know he did that stuff in college sometimes but more often i recall him finding spaces underneath in coverage, easier stuff that built up his confidence. Right now, i just see him trying (and failing) to make the difficult play...

I'm moving Petty to IR and retaining J.Marshall on the 53.
Also now keeping Reilly over Bishop.
