Not convinced they keep 4 QBs. Still think they might roll the dice on Petty as the backup and see if they can trade Smith for a late round pick or a bag of donuts.

I would like to see that, but I doubt it happens. Maybe if they get a great offer (eg 4th rounder or higher) on Smith then they bite. Otherwise, I think the 4 QB thing will happen due to Fitz and Geno's 2017 FA status.

Good effort and I agree apart from two things. We shouldn't keep 4 QB's and no way should we be giving up on Amaro.

Not much to argue on that list but I do think they keep Amaro over Sudfeld. I also think Stanford might make it, at least initially.

Good list but I think Amaro sticks, not because he's very good, but because we're very light at TE and he still has upside. This 4 QB conundrum is a pain in the ass. I really wanted to Petty to show just a little more and make it easy for the Jets to trade/cut Geno. Petty still seems to be one year away. It's not a total surprise....they thought he was a two year project and he's definitely improved in 1 year, but it's hard to imagine the Jets with an injury to Fitz, not having Geno, and needing Petty to start multiple games and lead this team to a potential playoff run. I don't want them to keep 4 but.....I think they make keep 4.

Yeah, we probably end up with Amaro and Davis though it's not what I would do. I was torn between Stanford and Martin for the final LB spot. Could easily go either way - especially with Martin apparently now banged up. I think Reilly is gone, which is a shame, but I just don't see space for him with Jenkins and Catapano around.

While Amaro is a huge disappointment he's certainly not worse than Sudfeld or Bostick especially Sudefeld, who probably singlehandedly helped lose the previous pre season game. Guys like that stick in my memory and at least you cut Thompkins who I equate with Sudfeld thanks to keeping us out of the playoffs last year But I can see your logic if your preferred second round pick is lighting it up somewhere else

Are we sure they'll go with 9 LBs? I know we play a 3-4, but Bowles also likes his CBs/DBs. I guess we've got special teams considerations to make too. One other thought on the roster in general - I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets end up with 52 players and sign someone else who gets cut from around the League. We really need another Offensive Lineman in my opinion. The Jets are not deep on the OLine and the interior backups of Dozier and Watts do not instill confidence. I was hoping for an upgrade over Winters this year and now we're actually dependent on Winters and need him to stay healthy because what's behind him is worse. The more I think about it I might consider trading Geno for a decent borderline starter/backup OG.

But guys like Martin and Catapano can also be ST assets, while probably offering more as LBs on D also.

The more I think about it I might consider trading Geno for a decent borderline starter/backup OG. Teams usually keep extra LBs because they have a lot of ST value. I think 8 would be a little light, so I went with 9. We will also keep at least 10 DBs, I think - probably 6 of them CBs. Trading Geno for OL (or TE) help would work for me. My current fantasy is Escobar from Dallas for Geno. Their disappointing former 2nd round pick for ours.
