This will be a tough stretch coming up. The Jets face 4 playoff teams from last season, three of them on the road. But after that they'll have what look to be very winnable games. Then it's the Bye week in late November to hopefully rejuvenate them for the stretch run. I'd be very happy if the Jets go 5-3 over the next 8 games and head into the Bye at 6-4.

Even before Wilson's ankle injury I thought Seattle was very winnable. Beat Miami by 2 points? And tanks god for Cleveland and LA

Even before Wilson's ankle injury I thought Seattle was very winnable. Beat Miami by 2 points? And tanks god for Cleveland and LA Because of the Jets balance in all three phases of the game I'm starting to think they'll be able to hang around with just about any team in the league. I think there will be some games where the O has to carry us or the D will have to really keep the Jets in the game, but that's a good situation to be in....knowing that you're capable on both sides of the ball and that Special Teams is, at a minimum, average. We've talked about it in certain threads but only minimally, however I think Lac Edwards is turning out to be a real weapon when punting. He is burying teams pretty deep with good hang time. That's "hidden yardage" that can have an effect throughout the game.

Only team that scares me on that schedule is the Shitsburg.

The big question will be is just how many of these games will we need to lean on the defense....Fitz may have played his best game as a Jet Thursday night. All of these games are winnable if he plays like that or even if he plays 80-90% of that. What at we can't afford is a Fitz that disappears for 5 game stretches like he did last year. If that's the case our defense is not going to be able hold up and get us wins against a lot of these teams.

I'd be very happy if the Jets go 5-3 over the next 8 games and head into the Bye at 6-4. i got my green tinted glasses on and i see 8 wins in a row before the bye. granted it's early in the season but i don't see where the jets shouldn't come out on top against all of these teams. first off there's way too much parity to think that one team is that much better. the second thing the jets have now played two games against fairly tough opponnents and dominated one or more aspect of each game. yeah they got beat by cincy and, in reality, they should've beaten buffalo by about 21, but this is not last year's team. it's much better. and even if the naysayers want to get on revis for the two long passes, they forget that cincy does have an excellent passing attack. as for buffalo, even a blind squirrel finds an open receiver down field. the bottom line is, barring injuries (and the worst would be a double hit on the wr's or fitz), this team is going to win 6 of the next 8 and go into the bye 8-2. then the fun begins with the brady bunch, the second doltfin game, and the second buffalo game. chalk those up as 4 more wins. 12-4 here they come.

I like green-tinted glasses (I have a pair in the drawer) but I'd honestly sign up for 2-2 over the next 4 games.

They'll win some they shouldn't and lose some they should win.
If they get to the last four at 6-6, I'll be pissing perfume.

The way they have played the first two weeks, this looks like the team that can beat anyone -- or be beat by anyone. If they can eliminate the mistakes, and continue to control the line of scrimmage like they did in the first two games, they can compete with anyone. But the mistakes, and big plays against, they can be beat by anyone. Like other have said, give me 2 of the next 4, and I will take my chances the rest of the way.

If if if if if if if.
That's all I ever read here is if. Of,course, if it all goes right, jets win the Super Bowl. Enough with the ifs. As soon as you say if, you cut your argue, net in half. Add another if, and down to,a quarter. Just tell it like it is. No one wants to hear the Jets will win on a list of hypothetical ifs.
Or maybe you do. I dunno.
Whatever.
Tits.
