Rodgers isn't a great example to use, it was Jeff Tedford at Cal who tweaked his delivery by having him hold the ball slightly higher to quicken his release. He already had great footwork, accuracy and arm strength. Rodgers felt like he was too robotic though and actually reverted back to his more natural motion and ball position after he left Cal. Rodgers was FAR from a reclamation project nor did he have to overhaul his mechanics. Even with his more unnatural throwing motion he completed 66% of his passes in college. I know this isn't the point you are making, but the 66% for Rodgers came as a Junior after his second year under Tedford. His first season under Tedfor is strikingly similar to Hackenburg under O'Brien. Who knows where Hackenberg progressed if O'Brien stays. Well yea, who knows what happens with Hack if O'brien stayed, but he didn't and Hack isn't where he needs to be. My point was that Rodgers wasn't a project and didn't need to overhaul his mechanics coming into the NFL.

Not that any of this matters now, but I found it interesting that out of the 10 years Franklin has as OC or HC in college, he's had exactly 1 QB break the 60% mark

I haven't watched any Penn State football this year, but I've heard that it continues to be a clusterfuck.

He's one hell of a recruiter, but he's earning the reputation as one of the worst gameday coaches around.

His nickname "Hack" is pretty close to bust. Hopefully he surprises everyone (I doubt it), or we can only go up from here! I highly doubt it too, but damn it, I'm going down with the ship. Can't change it now. 35 fucking years later, what the hell am I supposed to do?

We've been left with plenty of crap. Keep throwing it at the wall.

We've been left with plenty of crap. Keep throwing it at the wall. Yet some teams r good year after year and some teams are perennial laughingstocks with a couple of tease seasons. We are the latter and that's because of poor FO decisions, shitty contracts to old losers, horrendous drafts, bone headed picks, year after year after year. This franchise sucks beyond belief. Bigger faster greener - someone came up with that slogan and someone said, great idea. Let's use it twice! Our management is a joke. Owner a dumby. GM a four eyed lackluster evaluator of talent. Facts are facts. That's y we aren't good. Not bad luck, bad decisions.

Petty made a huge jump from year 1 to year 2 I don't see why that won't continue for him and why hack can't make a similar improvement from his rookie year , I mean give the kid some time psu really fucked that kid up every good player and coach left him , also had the worst o-line in collage and the coach did nothing to help him but change his footwork and make him uncomfortable
