Actually Im impressed with Petty the guy bad 5 yd passes are a result of lack of playing time I fault that with Mac signing Mcown they should have started Petty game one and let the chips fall. But this dumb Gm and coach dont understand you have to give a young QB playing time they need to clean house and find a GM that knows what he is doing. You were impressed with Petty? ??

I didn’t watch the game but I heard Petty sucked monkey ass.
So Stokes, do you still still on the Petty bandwagon?
How did you see his performance?

For one reason he played well considering lack of reps. This is the whole problem with this GM and coach they wont give these kids any time. Instead they start a 39 year old career backup. Im with you we have to take a QB in the draft. Jets dont have a full year to start Petty or Hackenberg. This year should have been the year to start Petty and Hack. Petty play well for someone who had 5 starts and spent his entire 3 years on the scout team fault your idiot GM and coach for this.

In fact I think the Jets should go after Cousins instead of drafting its obvious they have no clue how to develop a QB.

He missed a LOT of throws, nearly all his misses were short low or behind his receivers. For a guy his height he had way too many passes batted down. He made a few nice throws, one long one to McGuire but he didn’t really elevate his play or anyone around him. To his credit, he was never out in s position to shine, they ran in almost every first and second down so he was always throwing on third down and they had him figured out. I’d love to see them just let him wing it-he’s a rythym thrower, let him throw the ball around the field. Who gives a fuck at this point. Let him loose and see what he can do. Or play Hack so we can really laugh. _

Bowles knows he isn't very good also. His remarks after the game spelled this out. Only positive thing he said was that playing was a good experience for him. And forget Hack. Maybe there is a decent QB somewhere down the line, outside of the top college QBs everyone is talking about. The word is that the Giants are big on Davis Webb, and they're keeping quiet about it, that they want the rest of the league to believe they're going to use number two for a QB. And look at all of the starting QBs that didn't go in the first few picks. Maybe we'll be lucky. They should go for a free agent only if they feel the rest of the team is prepared to make a run, and all we need is a decent QB to do it.

Maybe he had the jitters, but that was awful.

Having a lack of 1st team reps doesn't mean you aren't practicing throwing a football.

I don't think I've ever seen some of those one-hoppers in an NFL game before. That sucked even by our standards.

The little that I've watched this season, here's some concerns/point outs:
1. Qb-painfully obvious to see why McCown was our best option. Still a small sample on Petty but maybe that's enough.
2. O line
3. Years of drafting defense, and after the departure of Mo what do we have to show for it? Adams seems to be a legit star in the making. Darrin Lee got pasted early yesterday.
4. WRs-Anderson and Enunwa?
5. HB-Powell
Still a competitive team in many ways. So, may not be as bleak as it feels?

All I know is that if Macc and Bowles are back, they have to go for broke and get their young franchise QB this offseason. No way they can be stupid enough to not realize that. Draft picks be damned, maybe the Giants are dumb enough to think they can get another 3 years out of Eli and will make a deal with us.
Either way, unless they can land a guy like Cousins in FA, they have to come away with either Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield or Jackson in April.

He didn't help himself with some really bad throws but he really wasn't put in a position to succeed. Defense played well overall.
