Petty, because I'm a firm believer that Hack needs a good 2-3 years of riding the pine if he's ever going to pan out.
Fuck literally every veteran option out there. Glennon is the only one I wouldn't mind since there's no way the Redskins let Cousins walk.

If Petty continues to progress they way he seemed to this past Summer....before getting hurt, then I think I want to give him a shot to start. The most important thing the Jets could probably do this season is find a way to get him at least 2 to 3 starts. Especially if the season continues the way it has and we're something like a 3-8 team heading into the end of November, put Petty under Center.
EDIT: The more I think about it the more I think the Jets MUST get Petty some starts. Even if he isn't a future starter, he could be a longterm #2 and a guy like that needs to face live bullets in some real NFL games.

I hope Petty works out. I think he has that cocky/gunslinger attitude and I love that and I think an offense can really feed of that kind of emotion during games. Part of what makes Aaron Rodgers so great.

We need to lose with the devil we know than take a chance on someone else!

We don't have a mainstay like Favre or Brees to hold the fort down for that long while our CS toils away on that broken motherfucker. I demand Macc fall on that sword in 2017

Hack all day long.
He has the brain and leadership tangibles and his mechanics can be tweaked. This is Macc's guy.
This team needs its 2nd round picks to start workin out and I always find it hard when we just give up on these guys like 2nd round picks just grow on trees.
Geno S Hill Ducasse Amaro
It's because of these misses that we are in the mess we are now so we better hope Hacks snaps the trend of disgusting day 2 picks, because whichever way you slice it these are high value picks and they need to start hittin on them.
I don't think I can tolerate another day 2 whiff.

Hill and Vlad just flat out sucked and I get that, they where just bad picks. However they never truly commited to supporting Geno from day 1, they put him behind a terrible O-line, zero weapons, front office dysfunction, a Rex Ryan ground and pound offense wildcat BS, different OC's and so on. They never sat and groomed him like they are Petty and Hack or put him in a position to be successful like say the Raiders have with Carr or the Boys with Dak. It was just neglect of a second round pick which I consider as valuable as a late first to just throw him out there with no realistic chance to thrive. Tanny even put Sanchez behind a good line and gave him a running game and some pieces like Braylon. It's the same with Amaro, he had 1 full season then got injured the next, he comes back and drops a few pre season passes and the fanbase is crying out for him to be cut again like there's no value in where he was drafted. Now we sit here with limited depth and very few playmakers and wonder why we are in this mess, it's because we can't cash in in rounds 2 and 3 and put these guys in a position to be successful.

Hack's "mechanics" don't need to be "tweaked" or rather they can't be.
He is a naturally inaccurate thrower of the football. No amount of "tweaking" is going to fix that.
And he can't be rebuilt--it's not natural for him. Rebuilding him would take an operation like the one Lee Majors had.
Lets face it, he was drafted because he has prototypical NFL size and is thought to have a high football IQ.
But at the end of the day, he's just a big body with a big inacccurate arm.
Nice kid, though.

Are Deshaun Watson and Deshone Kizer really not worth it?? walking_home_crying-1328 Nope. And I was surprised at how good Kizer was when I saw him at MetLife a few weeks ago but I don't think either are worth top picks. Both are 100x better than Hack but neither will be as good as Petty. _
