What's his purpose?
He got his money, he gave us one win, thanks Fitz.
Now it's time to move forward with three youngins.
And of course we can sign an extra CB or OL.
Any downside to cutting him? IDTS. discuss.

Other than trying to satisfy visceral teeth gnashing there is no upside to cutting him.
But there is downside.
First of all, he's got his money so we're not getting any back. And the cap hit is already baked.
So there is no financial gain but he is STILL a tremendous asset to Petty and Hack.
The saying goes "those who can't do, teach" well that's Fitz's primary role right now.
And if he'd agree to a reasonably cheap contract I'd sign his as a backup for next year.
Yeah he sucks as a QB but he could be invaluable in teaching the young guns how to act like a pro, how to lead like a pro and how to prepare like a pro.
If he was a douchebag and wasn't helping the young guys out I still wouldn't cut him because it makes no sense but if he can mentor Petty and Hack I'm keeping him in that locker room.

In addition to what Stokes said... high probability someone gets killed behind our OL so we might need him to play again.

In addition to what Stokes said... high probability someone gets killed behind our OL so we might need him to play again. Absolutely ... excellent point.
