I thought you didn't want to get itnot it. Geno getting his jaw broken was Geno's fault. Anything else is bullshit. _ I didn't peg you for a mouth breather. Ahhh, first you don't want to get into it followed by a personal taunt. Well played. I didn't peg you for an excuse maker. _

I know Geno is not exactly popular around these parts, but I feel pretty bad for the guy. He was called into duty way too early. Was set to get his shot around the time he should be considered "ready" and gets his jaw broke by some moron teammate. His replacement goes on to have the year of his life, and not relinquishing the starting spot for 24 or so NFL season weeks. He finally gets what is likely his last shot to show what he is capable of, and blows his knee out not even halfway through his first game. Love him or hate him, that fucking sucks. Called into duty too early? Fuck that! How about all the rookies doing well this year!?!? Why are they ready to go but our players need 10 years before they can see the field. That is just an excuse.

Not to mention beating Cleveland was Wentz' first start with the Eagles and it gave him confidence. What better team is there to get your first start against other than the Browns?!?!?

I don't want to get into that whole scenario anymore, but Geno is hardly to blame for that. You think that's the first time in NFL locker room teammates had a verbal spat? It's just flat out stupidity on the other guys part. Flat out stupid. Sure.. if Tom Brady mouths off to some scrub, do you think that scrub EVER hits Tom Brady? No. Why? Because he's a leader. Geno was never a leader - want more proof? Do we have to show those post game interviews where he blamed others? Ragu said it best - he's dumb as rocks, with no personality to be a leader. He never had a chance because of HIM. This injury just ended the misery. This. Is not bullshit. You make your own "luck" and you bring shit upon yourself showing a complete lack of awareness and leadership. _

Agree 100% - no justification at all. But don't act like that punch derailed the next Joe Montana's career. "A fool and his money should never get together in the first place".

And I give him credit for handling all of this well. I dunno... I was really not impressed by his actions on the sideline when Fitz was shyting the bed a couple games back. He really showed up the starter... and revealed himself to be the immature non-entity as a leader we've seen before. Karma is a bitch. On the other hand, Now Petty is bumped to back up... and we know Fitz aint turning into Brady any time soon so we're likely to see Petty sooner rather than later...at least we'll know if he totally sucks too. +1 He looked like a spoiled brat. I've seen middle schoolers act better than that.

Geno Smith sucks as a QB and and most likely as a teammate, but some arguments against him just make me roll my eyes.

When you taunt a tiger you could get attacked. You have to understand these things, especially as the leader of a franchise. _

I've said a million times that Geno sucks, and is likely not an answer to any QB question. That doesn't mean he deserved to get his jaw broken or was the main factor in having his jaw broken. He wasn't an innocent bystander, but that doesn't mean the outcome wasn't excessive.

I don't think Geno is blameless, but I don't think he's the main culprit for blame. Excessive reaction is how I would define it.

Well this puts an end to the Geno and the Jets, and I was ready to move on anyway so this aint bad news for me, sucks for Geno, but I'm sure he will still get paid next year by some team.
Puts Petty one more step closer to getting in a game also, which most of us have been hoping for anyway.
Closure is good.

The thing that bothers me in all this is that we still don't know what Geno is. I'm always terrified that we are gonna let a QB go and he goes somewhere else and lights it up. Clemens, Ratliff, Sanchez and now Geno. Odds are he won't do well but I gotta hold my breath for another year or two. I mean Geno is a punk and that won't change but you can win with a punk. Look at Cam Newton.
