Was the alleged "violent whack job" known as a "violent whack job" when said pissing contest commenced? Reported at the time. I think he had screw loose, beat up a tranny that catfished him and he punched out an off duty cop. _ Oh, he was a poor misguided young man then.

Revisionism? WTF are you babbling on about? Revisionism - the changing of historical facts to suit your argument. We all know what Geno was/is/will be - an average (and that's being generous) QB at best.. frankly, I think he's below average and will be out of the league in 2 years. The general consensus was he needed to sit a year and learn. Then Rex fucked that up by putting Sanchez back in against the Giants trying to win the Snoopy Bowl. In year two his performance got better while the talent around him got worse. What facts have been revised?

Now, what you've pointed above is just speculation... you can say "Oh, we will never know if Geno WOULD have been good if Rex had done xyz"... that's fine, you're speculating. But don't say "We will never know what Geno WILL BE if he goes to another team". Yes we do - at this point in time, he will suck. Don't fret over him leaving the Jets sooner than later... he won't be the next Cam Newton, you have my word on that.

people say this but logic says it isnt true....if that were the case then every man, woman and child on a plane crash had it coming, and that would mean there is actually something that a person could so to magically impact them selecting the winning numbers on lotto...it's faulty logic....it was luck that the punch actually broke the jaw, it was luck that a take down that looked minor (imo) was enough to tear his acl and it was luck that you happened to be online at the same time I am reading this thread. Wait, you're using "luck" and "logic" in the same argument? And that folks on a plane with no control over its flight or circumstances surrounding the plane are the same as Geno not paying back IK chump change, them taunting him about it? Coincidence and luck are two different things. And I'm not sure luck is a real thing. well we can partially agree to disagree.....you used logic/common sense in one of your posts about a blindfold and a highway....getting hit or not is a matter of luck, not coincidence, getting popped for not paying up is one thing, the jaw breaking and him losing the whole season is luck not coincidence. I don't want to get into defending Geno because that isnt my point or purpose, I'm only saying that the series of circumstances surrounding him definitely were unlucky.....but then again after following this team for 40 years you begin to believe in luck....do you remember Testaverte going down in the first game with an Achilles? If that wasnt piss poor luck I dont know what is...this franchise tends to have a lot of "luck" much of it bad so yeah.....I'm a believer.

Bad drafting, stupid decisions, bad management, coincidence have more to do with our 40 plus years of ineptitude than bad luck. Was it unlucky we took O'Brien over Marion? Are injuries the product of "bad luck" or are they just happenstance occurences that occur at inopportune times? _

He improved his comp% and cut down on his turnovers in year two while the team around him got significantly worse. His trajectory was upwards in my opinion. Odds are he won't be a franchise QB, I know that. It's just frustrating that the Jets mismanaged the QB situation again. Shitzpatrick should never have been re-signed.

But he was.
Maybe we rip off 3 more in a row and finish the year strong, never know what could happen at 5-5. Geno took his final snap as a Jet. I'm sorry but good luck elsewhere...
Petty or Hack in 17. I'm gunna guess Petty.

His comp % and perfomance overall was skewed by his last 3-4 games that had no pressure on him or the Jets. When the pressure was on he was BRUTAL and got benched for a few games and then the coaching staff took the ball out of his hands when he came back. I think he was a better, more productive player in 2013, notwithstanding looking back at "stats". _

We all know how this is gonna play out. Bowles and the team still think they have a chance to salvage the season and make a run at a WC spot so they will ride with Fitz wasting valuable playing time for Petty or Hack.
Fitz and his cheerleaders will beat up on some crappy teams and get us to 7-9 8-8 so we have a a shitty draft position and no clarity on the QB situation beyond this year.
All this because this deluded team and coaches don't realise just how bad they actually are. They need to look at the bigger picture and start Petty now.
