nyj.247sports.com/Bolt/Report-Jets-2016 Savior-sprained-MCL-vs-Dolphins-48813908 New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitz-Patrick suffered a sprained MCL in Sunday’s game against Miami, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The injury is not believed to be serious, but could still alter the Jets’ decision making when determining who will start at the position this Sunday when they play against the Los Angeles Rams. Fitz-Patrick left Sunday’s 27-23 loss briefly after sustaining the injury, to his left knee, following a collision at the line of scrimmage. In his place, second year signal caller Bryce Petty entered the game, completing both of his pass attempts, his first in regular season action, for 19 total yards, 15 of which came on a screen pass for running back Bilal Powell.

Sprain?
Someone should hire Jeff Gillooly to finish the job.

This is a perfect opportunity to get Petty a soft landing start and a soft landing benching for Fitz.
Get it done.

Petty and Goff on Sunday. At least it would make the game interesting if it happens.

perfect excuse to get petty in. the rams aren't very good, it's a home game, and petty will have a full week of practice with the first string.

As much as I want Fits benched and then cut from the team, I'd let him start this week against the Rams. It would be counterproductive for Petty to have his first start against the Rams D.

I usually agree with you but fuck this BS, enough of this babying pro QB's, get em out there. I don't buy this Rodgers BS, you can sit a QB when he's sat behind a franchise HOF guy but we have no such luxury, we have Ryan FitzFuckinPatrick FFS. These guys have played QB most of their lives, Derek Carr, Dak, Simian, Wentz etc never had the luxury of sitting. Get them out there if they're good enough no matter who it is against. Enough of this coddling.

I think you could argue it would be even more counterproductive to have his first start come against the Pats after the Bye.
