I love the guy. He's been a great Jet and a real trooper. But the dude drops WAY too many balls, really easy ones that would be for sure first downs. And now he looks like he's not even trying. No effort. You've got Bilal busting his balls, Quincy laying out for balls and Anderson trying to catch everything. And Petty getting crushed repeatedly and getting up. I think it's time for Marshall to move on to the TV booth. _ Who is on your short list to replace this trouper?

Keep Richardson ?? I don't remember hearing Marshall was missing meetings or talking shit about teammates to the beat writers , street racing and doing 150 while trying to outrun cops with a car stinking like weed and pistol Under the seat
Marshal might be a locker room distraction but Richardson is a straight up cancer Last game of the year he decides to show up and show some effort where was that all season ? Pretty sure he said to himself I better show other teams what I can do last game .
Also think Bowles probably sat these guys down and talked to them about what was going on but the players never fully squashed any beef they had with each other
2nd problem was Fitzpatrick Marshall and Decker were holding out and banging the table for that loser to come back meanwhile he wasn't working out in the offseason just throwing the ball to his brother and making a celebrity tour in NYC
Then shows up last day to sign a contract not ready for season . Fast forward to game against KC when he throws 6 picks . Players in locker room are saying to themselves this is bullshit AND Fitz is a bum and that's what the fight was all about Sheldon probably said to Marshall this is your fault

Because that WOULD explain both why the whole team got fractured and why it was so difficult for Bowles to cut the cord on Fitz and go to Petty. Would bring a different meaning to Marshall's assertions that he would 'go down on the ship with Fitz.' Great take.

No never reported just my take on the situation . If I was a player on the team and saw this clown showing up all over NYC getting standing ovations like he's actually done something after blowing the last game against the bills . Then holding out for money missing OTA when no other team even wanted him I would be pissed and have some resentment towards him and the players who begged for him to come back
In hindsight should've just gone into season with Geno as the QB guy was busting his ass in OTA and deserved to be QB 1
Whatever Marshall deal is he rubbed Sheldon and Revis the wrong way and those are only the ones we know about but he's now going to be on to his 5th team in 11 seasons I personally like him as a player he plays through injuries and gives his all on the field but the Jets need to rid themselves of all the cancers on this team Rex had the same problem here and I don't think it's a coincidence that now Bowles is having locker issues . Either that or they need to bring in leaders not the quite leaders we've had for past 10 years like Mangold , Brick and Harris we need guys to police the locker room Bowles can only do so much

Marshall was this years Santonio Holmes. Not even close. Do you remember how selfish & horrible of a person Santonio was acting like his last years here? It was horrible. Brandon was nowhere near that. He still remained professional. Losing games is a hard thing to fight through as you get older. Your time is ticking.

So hard for me to see the Marshall we experienced last year (an all time jet year, imho) becoming a cancer - but i can imagine his public campaigning for Fitz last summer becoming a powder keg when fingers got pointed in the locker room.

Well based on his past history Marshall is just as selfish and horrible of a person. Don't let his public image fool you, he is publicly playing nice because he is auditioning for his next gig on a major network as a commentator or on a pre game show. The guys in the locker room know that but Sheldon is the only one stupid enough to say something.

The guys in the locker room know that but Sheldon is the only one stupid enough to say something. He's been pretty forthright with his mental illness issues and has done a lot for that cause. I don't believe he's the same person he was any longer, but it's certainly possible his ego is showing itself in other ways.

I was shocked to read that Richardson and Marshall both had strong feelings about Bowles coming back as HC. Marshall even felt that the locker room would have had more problems if it wasn't for Bowles handling of the situation. I am really on the fence here now. I've been of the firm opinion that both Shel and Marshall have to go, but I can't help but feel there are lessons in this for Shel, Marshall, and the team as a whole. Having seen what happened, do you think there are any players in the locker room that would let this happen again? (Probably Shel -- he's a dunderhead). Is the team as a whole better off for having experienced it? Is the HC supposed to solve all of your problems, or treat you like men, even when you are behaving like little girls? I don't think Pete Carroll or Bruce Arians exercise that kind of control over their locker room.
I am really struggling with how to view this in the long run. I've managed people for many years and know from experience that there are some things you've just got to let them work out on their own because they learn from the experience, especially if their bad decisions result in failure.
