Hate to say it but we need Tom Coughlin. Its looking like we are going to bring in a czar and I definitely pick him over Holmgren. Let him coach for a year or two if he wants. We got nothing to lose. Is it looking like we are bringing in a czar? I hope so, but on what are you basing this. I hope Les Nesman from WKRP in Cinnincinnati (woody) does this, but I haven't heard this is the way he's leaning.

"Looking like" might be an overstatement on my part bc we havent really heard anything from the horse's mouth. Im just reacting to the rumblings that Woody could be taking the ambassadorship. I think the NFL would love to see him in that role as they explore a London franchise. And if he did take the role then bringing in a czar would make sense. Woody does look like Nesman.

We seem to rebuild every offseason. This is nothing new. It is however, unfortunate.
We don't have an offensive line to protect the franchise QB we do not yet have. We have amazing talent on a Defensive Line that can't get to the QB or even mask the deficiencies we have at LB. We have gone from an elite run defense to swiss cheese while at the same time not being able to stop the pass, even with a HC who came from the Defensive side of the ball and the Secondary in particular.
The best thing about all of the above is that no matter where the Jets pick in the Draft, there will be about 100 guys available who can help them....and they'll probably pick the wrong one.

Hey Par, if Paxton Lynch was a Jet, would our franchise QB be on our roster? Of course. Why wouldn't he? Is Carson Wentz the same for the eagles? Part of this is the player actually becoming that Manning/Rivers/Carr caliber QB, and part of it is just believing he's on the roster. All kinds of dominos fall into place if you think you have the guy. Both in and out of the lockeroom. I know he'd be starting over Petty at this point. No way you can prove that Lynch would be starting over anyone with the way this Coaching staff operates. Come ti think if it...How do we know that Petty wouldn't be starting over Semien and Lynch if he were in Denver?

If we'd have drafted him for example, he'd be no worse than #3. After fitznuclear and Geno's knee, he'd see what we spent a 1st rnd pick on.

There's no question that the 2017 season is going to suck, but it has the potential to help fix things in the long run. We're likely to be the worst team in the league, but that's arguably better than being the sixth-worst, or whatever we end up being this year.
The Colts have been the worst team in the NFL just two times in the past 20 seasons, and, in the following years' drafts, they picked Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. I'd argue that we're been a complete team more frequently than the Colts have during many of the last 20 years, but having those franchise QBs has led to their far greater success.
We have to play Christian Hackenburg next season to find out what he is. If he turns out to be good, then that's great. We can commit to him as our QB of the future and build around him. If he turns out to be as bad as everyone seems to be predicting, then that's OK, too. We'll end up with the first pick in the draft and get to decide between Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen, who look like they have the potential to be legitimate franchise QBs (assuming Rosen can fully recover from his shoulder injury, which may have included nerve damage).
As for the coaching staff, since we figure to be making wholesale roster changes this offseason by getting rid of a bunch of high-priced veterans, isn't this a good time to also bring in a new coach? Otherwise, you're going to bring in about 30 new players next year who are fits for Bowles' and Gailey's systems, only to see another massive roster turnover for a new coach in 2018 after we go 2-14 in 2017.

And we do not want a Jewish qb, no way. Too much whining. Sorry, I meant to swipe the whole quote. QB ratings could change dramatically before the 2018 draft. The main point is that if we commit to a total rebuild, we might finally get our shot at the top QB in the draft. And the 2018 class is probably going to be stronger than the 2017 class.

It's a hot mess. But so what. Life's too short to be sitting on a dildo. sitting on a dildo sounds like a more enjoyable pasttime then watching Jets football at this point.

One thing I've learned - based on reading this thread and others - is that the Jets have the absolute worst fanbase in the history of professional sports. Very few TRUE Jet fans on this forum.
