This thread is not for the amateurs going to faux parties.
What are you cooking for New Year's Eve?
Starting with a puffed pastry wrapped baked Brie stuffed with crispy crumbled bacon and fig jam.
Assorted hard and soft cheeses.
Shrimp scampi.
Petite filet mignon pan seared in a sizzling hot cast iron skillet finished in the oven topped with truffle butter.
Proseco, cosmopolitans, single malt scotch.
Fuck if I care we have dessert.

Doing the traditional first meal on New Years Day. Pork, Greens and Blackeyed Peas. Health, wealth and good fortune. All of which would be appreciated in 2017. Some years I will go with ribs or tenderloin. This year it will be smothered pork chops.

The wife does not like the zest. I forgot to mention the fresh Caesar salad as well. Home made croutons.

I also use some of the oil from the anchovies as well. Make sure the dressing is good and emulsified. Oil salt pepper an a touch of garlic for the croutons and then bake them.
