Jets claim Kony Ealy on waivers from the Cheats. Possible edge-rushing help. I wonder how he fits our defense, he seems like a strictly 4-3 DE, which could be a good thing. Definitely worth kicking the tires on someone like him. Yeah, he would seem to fit the Pats' scheme more than ours. 7 teams put in waiver claims for him, most of them play the 4-3 (only us and the Cards don't play a conventional 4-3 base of the teams that put in a claim). I wonder if we may play more 4-3 this year, with Sheldon, Mo, Leo and one edge type. Ealy doesn't look like a 3-4 OLB at all, but he's definitely worth a look if we can find a way to get him on the field and let him go get the QB.

A snapper competition? That should be intense.

So, we traded McDougle to acquire a safety so we could send another safety to Indy to acquire a long snapper?

Coupla things that occur: Purdum is getting up in years, is expensive as an 8 year vet, and has had a couple of uncharacteristic poor snaps in preseason. The new guy snapped for Ross Martin in college so the Jets may have seen a lot of him while watching Martin and been impressed. Ronald Martin wasn't making the team anyway, as he has Adams, Maye, Miles ahead of him and the Jets have added a load of other guys recently to compete for the 4th spot - they clearly weren't impressed with Martin. So we dealt a guy who wasn't going to stick for a guy who might. Seems fair enough.

A snapper competition? That should be intense. Eww. I just pictured Mac and Bowles scissoring.

Dear Mr. Macc,
Please sign Jon Williams RB. He would be an excellent compliment to Powell and Eli. Don't be an idiot. Thanks!
Love Joe 😀😀👍

Dumb question - since Nick is still unsigned can we sign him on shorter money and give this o line some vet leadership? Or has he retired?

Jeremy Kerley visiting the Jets today, per PFT.
Interesting development. Bowles seemed to despise JK first time around, and practically chased him out of the building.
I always thought he was a good player. Certainly better than Peake.
