Take a look at this dude working for Boeing, he seems happy in his work and it's a professional job, I'm not sure fire fighting is. I voted fireman but want to change now. Looks like you can shit and piss yourself in that suit and nobody would know.

The big negative about firefighting is the usual danger but also the danger of inhaled chemicals. Despite advancement in equipment, so many guys end up retiring early with severe breathing problems. The same dangers exist painting large aircraft, paint chemicals are just as bad. But at least you know exactly what you are working with in a controlled environment. You pull up to a factory fire you have no idea whats in there and you have to run in and save people.

I just think the paint is a more time served skill more than the fire and the pay reflects that.

Go for the higher pay. Think about how much more £ you'd have made over ten years in the two jobs.

Follow your cock. i was in the fire service for 10 years when i was a pup, used to lay a lot of pipe with broads that dug it long long ago like in another life but still, i'm sure spray painters get their fair share of groupies

Go for the higher pay. Think about how much more £ you'd have made over ten years in the two jobs. Factor in how much stuff you can knick (or is it nick?) as a fireman. Jewelry, drugs, cash, all tax free. Now you got a tough decision.
